Jordan Smith is out of contract this summer, appears to have played zero minutes for Huddersfield and has barely made the bench. Wonder if this is the end of his career as a professional footballer?
As I understand it (training ground gossip from past and present Forest GKs), Jordan went to Udders on the promise of being back-up keeper and challenging the incumbent (the usual No 2) for a starting role. But the No 1, who had been injured, which is why Smith was signed, recovered and kept his place, so the No 2 remained on the bench.
So Smith just swapped being No 3 in an EPL relegation battle under SSC to being No 3 in a Championship relegation battle under Colin.
(Colin has pulled out as manager of one of the teams in a charity game at Gainsborough next weekend citing exhaustion from his efforts at Udders - Robbie Fowler is taking his place)
I can see him joining a L1 or L2 side as a No 2 keeper. (Morecambe have released virtually their whole squad for example)
