Tuchel has made some statement about not necessarily picking the 26 best players, but the 26 best teammates. Which is a fucking joke when he's selected Ivan fucking Toney.

He was asked about Bowen and said his club have been struggling and some players have benefited because they have won the league and Champions league (Madueke and Eze) yet then was wittering on about how good Spence was. Assume he’s failed to notice how fucking shit Spurs are.

Basically, he's picked some players cos he rates them and left some out cos he doesn't. And then come up with the justifications afterwards. For good or ill, that's what he's paid a fortune to do.
As ever with squad announcements, everyone's getting very worked up about a bunch of players who aren't/ weren't going to play much, if at all.
I still think Morgan should have been picked but it isn't going to make much difference, except to him, in the broader scope of things.

I think penalties is a huge clue as to why Toney is going.
