This is all a bit The Simpsons episode where Lisa bases her American Football predictions on whether she loves Homer or not.
    In my mind anyway.
I hate Dad is currently tied.

Anderson is now the best player in this England team, by some distance too.

He’s very composed but the “best player by some distance” is a stretch

Maybe I'm watching through the old red-tinted glasses, but I'm not sure I see anyone else in the team as good, or as consistent, at what he's there to do than Anderson.

He's not at the technical level of Jude Bellingham but I'd argue every bit as valuable to the side. He's becoming the metronome and is moving ahead of Rice, I think.

So not the best player by some considerable distance, then;)

How Harry Kane is staying on here is beyond me.

Nope. Strayed into the hyperbole there on reflection but still think he's England's best player at present.

Guehi? Fuck up early and gift Spain a goal.
Spain? Miss shit loads of chances.
Cucurella? Fuck up for a goal. Or 2.
Kane? Fuck up a penalty for 3-1.
Spain? Sort yourselves out and score twice.
After that? Spain - miss some chances and England? Huff and puff without threatening.

Operation Fuck Tuchel - resounding success.

Our football really dies the longer Kane stays on.

Definitely thought Anderson was the best player on the pitch. Interesting to compare with Garner, who I like, who was nowhere near his standard. Read the game, tracked, won, already had the forward pass in his head when he won the ball.
Sadly, we appear to be at a weak time for English defenders and we insist on playing some who have clearly never met before the match.

I don't know if there's a Lego Branthwaite, but surely the real Branthwaite looks more Lego than a Lego Branthwaite could.

Surely Lewis Hall at left back and TAA at right back would have people who know the full back job and still have the ability to step into midfield and provide attacking threat.
I remain unconvinced that either Guehi or Konsa are at the standard we need. Certainly as a pair.

Trent's appearances at RB under Southgate have put me off that idea. Agree on the CBs, but do we have better options? Can't think what they'd be of the top of my head.

    So was his performance
Pass one - from an England corner, back to keeper
Pass two - back to keeper
Pass three - to Anderson and then told him to pass back to keeper
Pass four - gave it away.
Exactly the type of player to bring on when you're chasing the game. Presumably it was just for his height in the opposing box, a la Southgate, "playing to England's strengths".

Not that ive seen him play much but Quansah seems the sort to step into midfield and be able to play a ball.
In terms of Trent, better than Quansah at that job.
