Stayed at home because I have a life and watched the Superbowl on massive delay because wifey wants to watch the adverts and then go for a walk half way though the game. Bad Bunny was a great performance even though I don't speak Spanish and had no idea what he was banging on about. I did notice that nothing was censored so he was shouting "Puta Puta", a few times. (Whore in English and quite naughty in the latin language) and the network didn't censor it. Still jolly good fun even though his music is rubbish.

Seattle were always going to win having 2 ex-giants on the team (sic) - and yes I know one of them was also an ex-Jet too but he was pants then...),) as they have a ferocious defence and Drake Maye is just a lad.

Wifey took so long to get around to the game that I had to finish it this morning when one client canceled. Not the best Superbowl but not the worst either. Didn't meet any single ladies but did enjoy the latina lovelies doing the bum thing. We are hopefully going to Puerto Rico in three weeks and I will try not to make it too obvious when there is dancing all around me in San Juan. Anyway...carry on.

    The Giants are so fucked....

...not even worth exercising the funny bone, when it's as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.

Watched to just past half time and only because we were at a friends. Haven’t given a shit about the NFL for almost ten years.

Bad Bunny was good and I enjoyed the show. Used it as a lesson plan for my Language and Literature students today and they seemed to appreciate it. Especially the several Spanish fluent students.

I’m not a lyrics person for the most part, so it not being in English didn’t bother me. And I actually didn’t dislike the music as much as I thought I might. The salsa adjacent moments being my favorite.

Watching the build up to the Canada v USA Olympic hockey final on CBC, I'm disappointed to learn Sidney Crosby is out with injury... despite not even ever knowing who the fuck he was till about three days ago.

Canada square it up at the end of the 2nd. Going to be a fun 3rd period.

Trying to listen to Radio Nottingham and watch CBC at the same time is proving interesting -- though I can tune out of the latter half of the time cuz of fucking commercials.

Canada should have wrapped that up in the 3rd. How many chances do you need?

    PLAY OFFS BABY!

I may have to start arranging some odd working hours....

@Sean I hope you've stocked up on tea and biscuits and cleared your Saturday evening, the NHL has very thoughtfully scheduled games 1 and 4 at 3pm so you can sit and watch them without ruining your sleep schedule.

@Muswell you can sit this one out, or at least support your much smarter daughter and her preferred team.

I’m going to be in Arizona for the week, starting tomorrow so chances of Mus Jnr watching any playoff hockey are slim…

Terrible parenting to deny her this fun. You must atone for it by bringing her to Ottawa to see a home game in the next round, and I will escort you to make sure you do it right.

(Seriously, a playoff game in Ottawa would be an ace graduation gift. I have hookups for tickets.)

Yes indeed, and jolly decent of them to do so, I say.

And Mrs. Seán is delighted, of course.

This post aged well in just over a week, hey?

It's been a less than whelming 'ride' ....

Aussie not American sport, but in any case, I went to my first AFL match last week. Interesting enough, especially now the season's climaxing, but something doesn't quite seem satisfying about this sport. I dunno if it's cuz the regulation pitches are massive so I'd frequently have to look at the big screen instead, or because you can't immediately tackle the "mark", or even something silly to do with not having a crossbar. Anyhoo it seems I've been indoctrinated as a Western Bulldogs fan now and can get sneaked into the members area if I wish.

In other news, it was worth staying up the other night to watch Bullwell's own Emily Campbell break the Commonwealth record in that there weightlifting. Went to see her win gold last time in Birmingham 2022 and she battered the opposition again this time.
