A new CB that seems pretty decent too.
A new CB that seems pretty decent too.
I cant see us letting too mamy goals in this year. Bit worried about us at the other end though.
Oh God. I've just remembered we've got them again on Tuesday.
I think Psychobel is overly complimentary of McAtee. I thought he was average. A few decent passes but nothing particular worth note. Honestly I can't tell you of anyone who had a good game.
I expect the new CB to start on Tuesday along with Schlager and Wood. Maybe even Kalimuendo.
Noticeable that while he was there, there were wide open spaces, and MGW was largely too busy covering them to get on the ball. Partly the demands of the formation as well, but McAtee off the ball doesn't give enough help to play where he did.
I think Colback's assessment on the radio was fair. Which was broadly: He was alright, he will be better for the minutes in his legs (Babelfish says football speak means: 'he was wank').
If the manager really does think he's the best passer at the club, then we've got even more serious problems than McAtee being the best passer at the club. I don't buy it for a moment.
I took the time to watch McAtee closely. He was fine. Positionally good. Good tempo on moving the ball and some really sharp forward passes with the right weight and spin. And considering folk expected him to be bullied out of the game, a decent performance.
If the meat and potatoes armchair manager doesnt rate him, ill take that as validation of my position.
I'll give you that evidence suggests he's substantially stronger at the start of this season than the last. No other observable evidence for your view.
I understand that there's ability in there...but in terms of his current all round play that still comes with a broader liABILITY.
His all round play was fine. He isnt Anderson. Positionally fine. Moving the ball fine. Pressing fine. Passing, best on the pitch. Didnt drop a bollock. As a start as an 8, thats OK by me.
If you want to talk about a midfielder not at the races, I give you Sangare. Not his best game
Ponderous. He will improve
I think Morgan or Murillo are the best passers at the club, but McAtee is good at seeing angles and has fast feet. It could work, it might not.
We've climbed two places to 16th. The Glasner train is on the move.
That match was as pedestrian as Jack Colback's co-comms: sometimes worth paying attention to, but bloody hard work to stay engaged enough to appreciate any good stuff.
I think we were deadly dull under Glasner. Everything was rigid and uninspired. I think under Vitor we would have won that. Certainly under him we were playing with freedom and were fluid in movement. Watching this, I could tell where everyone was going. It was very easy to predict. We were unfortunately Leeds light. There weren't even remotely better than us they just got a shot on target. I think this is going to be a very boring season. Which some people may find inspiring. I didn't rate this performance as out of the blocks all guns blazing. Thought the players kind of played with a bit of fear. McAtee was fine. Sangare was Fine. We just didn't have any zip in the final third. We are going to have a tough time scoring unless we force mistakes on the press.
Dan N'Doye was rubbish again. The game was screaming out for a bit of CHO and the speed of Hutchinson or some 4-4-2 as We needed more midfielders or wingers available. We don't play with wingers which is absolutely crap to watch as they are the most exciting on the pitch. I am not feeling the vibes. There were exactly zero.
We will be fine but this will not be a charge to Europe which means Glasner probably isn't going to be comfortable. Cunha was our best defender. Igor was our best attacker. Pity he didn't find Neco near the end. Didn't deserve to lose. Didn't deserve to win. You know things are dull when Rob Jones doesn't enrage you. Blah.
Chicago: Feeling a tad uninspired.
Also Glasner has not switched to Paul Smith knitwear. It's never going to work.
