Marinakis on the touch line. Think he wants to kill the ref.

One of the most braindead things I've ever seen a Forest player do. Take a bow, Taiwo Awoniyi, for attempting to dribble the ball out of our own box and giving it away when just hoofing it would have won us the point.

    Agree re Taiwo.
Pretty annoyed that we stopped play for Konate’s ‘head injury’ when we had possession but they took the restart and punted it down the pitch which ultimately ended up in their goal.

Very on brand for scousers to abuse a rule like that for gain.

    Just on the train.

Think it was CHO trying to dribble away at the end.

But the most annoying thing is it came from OUR BALL. I've no idea how the referee gave them the ball. We had it. He stopped it for a head injury (the guy jumped straight up). Then he gave it their keeper.

Murillo, Williams, Sels, Omobamidele all excellent.

Taiwo and CHO were abysmal all day, culminating in the fiasco at the end.

I thought CHO was our best outlet and biggest threat.
Back 4 all solid, Sels too. Dominguez ran around like a crazy puppy all day but seems to have forgotten how to kick the bleedin thing.

I realize I’m a relentless optimist deep down, so this may aggravate others. I see a Forest side that plays far more cohesively and never looks completely out of a game since Nuno took over. Even the Villa match, they stayed in it for long stretches and never looked utterly defeated.
As much as I loved Cooper, that side would have been deep in the bottom three several matches ago, imho.

I largely agree with that, but I think the game plan was all wrong today. You can not assume you're going to be mistake free at the back against a team like Liverpool for 100 minutes, so to set out with "hit them on the break" as your only attacking option is a horrible tactic IMO because you're giving them pretty much free rein. We did actually do quite well at it and when Robertson went off we suddenly had more space, but I do not understand how our 35M Champions League player and our Brazilian wonderkid aren't better options than kick and huff Yates - he's effective at what he does, but what he does is so limited.

You are right but that is even more annoying as we look so near a decent prrem side, but not quite near enough.

Which is the classic too good to go down recipe.

And @Russ Sangare I assume is not fit and Yates was given MoM.

I don't think we have the quality to go at Liverpool, the gameplay for me was the best option, we are just lacking up front to take chances and can't as you say go mistake free for a while game at the back.

The problem with setting out like we did is that you are sending a clear message to your own team that they are not good enough to compete with teams like Liverpool, which as far as I'm concerned is halfway to losing before you've crossed the white line.

But they aren't good enough and they aren't that stupid that they don't know that themselves surely?
