Yeah, that's what I said.
Yeah, that's what I said.
So please tell me how it's different, unless at some point we convert being a peer into actually getting some wins which ain't happening at the moment.
Feelings are complex and nuanced, and losing is always shit, and getting relegated would be fucking terrible, but I reckon we've got a better chance of staying up now than we did before because we are playing better. This season we can't rely on a keeper saving us maybe 15 points.
We've got Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd away. We have to win probably 2 and not lose at Luton. It's still in our hands - points deduction pending - but I expect we'll get fucked by officiating and or VAR somewhere along the way.
I really don't want to believe that the Premiershipleague is bent, but it's remarkable which way the decisions seem to consistenly go...
Edit - Everton away as well.
In case anybody hasn't already made this point, we've played the best team in the league, not been outclassed and not lost any ground to Everton or Luton. Not a disastrous day.
That was so disappointing. Still feel fucking furious about the last couple of minutes and I’ve never heard a crowd so pissed off with a ref. Ridiculous giving them a drop ball when their player had clearly feigned injury to take some heat out of our pressure. We had the ball on the wing at the time. It was our drop ball. Also, Liverpool shaped up to take two throw ins, with two balls. We marked up for the one nearest our goal, but they carried on with the one nearest their goal and we therefore had nobody pressing. Yes, we should have just belted the ball away before they scored but, really, in the ninth minute of eight? Hope Nuno can use this as a bit of motivation for the next two games.
The day made even worse by watching Lee Anderson laughing with his mates, and by the fact that my mixed race son in law refused to nut him as he went past.
We've won 3 games away in 2 years...
Just wait until all those decisions 'even themselves up over the course of the season'. We'll be unstoppable.
We'll win 10-0 after we're mathematically down, with 7 penalties and 3 VAR
After next week, we've only got two games against top half teams. And one of those is wolves at home, where we'd fancy ourselves, Shirley?
We've played one of the best three teams in the league, who ridiculously under-performed and were there for the taking. (No Allisson, Trent, Jota, Salah, Szoboszlai not fit enough to start, a makeshift midfield with Gomez and Clark, a second-choice front three featuring Elliott and Gakpo) and suffered a devastating late goal for the second game running. The effect have on our morale could be disastrous.
So frustrating - I'm way more annoyed by this last minute winner than Wednesday night (not least because it gives the bindipping cnuts a massive boost in the title race) - but two last-minute winners conceded at home, no goals scored. Is that fatigue, a loss of concentration, psychological? Certainly needs looking at.
Three straight defeats. Only one win in 90 minutes in 12 games this year.
Wednesday night, United had the much better chances, we didn't create anything. Today it was the other way round. Elanga cost us on Wednesday with a stupid free-kick and he cost us today. A Premier League player has to be scoring one of those chances (I'd be p!ssed off if I missed both of them, let alone an international footballer). Not forgetting the great break he wasted with a woeful pass/cross.
We had control of the midfield for most of the game - Yates deserved MotM - but the changes swung it (taking off Clark and moving Gomez out of midfield, for Endo and Szoboszlai, while we lost Nico which affected our strength in there). Thought CHO was a decent outlet and deserved more.
Murillo had one of his wayward days, with his passing off.
I like Toffolo (cliche - "good honest pro"), but we do miss Tavares strength and power going forward.
(and thanks again to @JRs_Cigarette for the ticket).
100% he did
I've now seen th video and indeed he did.

Any chance Danns should have been sent off for twatting Sels?
Immensely frustrating. Annoyed with the ref but also annoyed with taiwo for not clearing the fucking ball. Not a bad performance really though. Thought we defended really well. I was surprised Yates played, but he deserved MOTM. Feel very flat tonight though
