In the last three matches we've beaten three of the five teams we had yet to beat since promotion. Spuds, Everton and Wolves all vanquished. That leaves only Boringmouth and Man City. Tis the season to demolish hoodoos.

That was a great night out. Really good curry in a desi pub that recently got a top review from Jay Rayner, followed by what was for most of the time a pretty straightforward win. Sels was outstanding - the difference between going in at half time ahead or behind. Lovely to see Taiwo score. You could see how much it meant to him and the entire team. Nice song for Aina that I hadn’t heard before, but overall the atmosphere was a bit lacking last night. Probably due to our 3000 or whatever being strung along 100 yards instead of being bunched together.
On the sky coverage, when Gibbs-White scored and did his ears thing in front of the Wolves crowd, you can see one chap (in a gold and black scarf, so presumably not an infiltrator) smiling and clapping happily. Which is nice.
I've been slowly 'collecting' Forest fans in Sheffield since we moved here 2 years ago. I set-up a 'South West Sheffield Reds' WhatsApp group, and we all (5 of us) met-up last night to watch the game. Was really good. I'm a bit hungover now.
Saw a Chris Wood interview after the game where he says Taiwo is "a big part of us" and i really like that turn of phrase.
Wood's success this season is getting a huge amount of profile in NZ, so much so that people actually know what I'm talking about now. Not seeing the shirts yet, but...
That's a nice thing, and is no doubt part a result of the good character of Wood himself. If you look at the starting team, and the squad, you can really see an unusually good bunch of very likeable young men. Which when established can become a virtuous circle as new players join. You look around other teams and wonder who they are learning from, and who are setting the standards. You look at forest and see lovely characters like elanga, williams, aina, and impressive leaders like MGW, Yates, and Wood. The great unbuilding project, was called thus because other teams have become commercial undertakings looking to yield a crop of young footballers, rather than actually build a well blended football squad to play football.
We are simultaneously behind the times, and streets ahead of the crowd, on this.
