Will she have effigies string from lampposts etc if they go out?

England looking very "big boys came" now.
Cor. That had the lot, and I felt it all just like I would have if it was the chaps.
Kinda gutted for Nigeria. They were terrific.
This tournament is outstanding. I wish I had been able to see more of it, but the game is getting stronger all the time. Brilliant from Nigeria, but this England team has so much to like, even when they aren't at their best.
I'd really like to say I felt the same, but I didn't. I enjoyed the game, and was very glad we won, but it wasn't the same. I guess it's a time thing. I've not been watching this team fail repeatedly for 30 years.
I was pleased the jammy gits won. Really didn't deserve it over the course of the game. When I was a schoolboy, I used to enjoy schoolboy internationals. I haven't really much cared about them for a very long time. If I was a wimmin, I would feel pretty hyped about it, but I don't. I think elite sports for categories is very important...it doesn't stop me getting frustrated at how slowly the ball is controlled and passed, and how little it's fizzed in with real quality. I could enjoy a good game of walking football. but it's not the same for me as ultimate top flight football. It's just not.
It’s certainly not the same game as the blokes. I didn’t enjoy the sport anywhere near like I would enjoy any decent men’s game… it’s too slow and far too much tattyness goes unpunished, which is very frustrating. But the drama of the match and occasion.. that got me good.
From my limited history of following this team, they feel a little like (historically) Germany in the men's game. They've got quite a few injuries, and they're not playing well, but they just somehow keep scraping by and getting through. The old "winning is a habit" thing.
So seeing as the verdict is "it's alright but a bit crap" I assume everyone is watching the first half of us getting tumped by Arsenal next week rather than the latest instalment of the backstampers down under?
I'm going to be across the border in Wales, so an interesting choice for yhe local pubs between the EPL and the Lionesses. Whether they will show either remains to be seen.
I'm going to be in a hotel in Montreal recovering from having seen Metallica the previous night, and won't see either game. However, you may recall the effect that my presence in Montreal had on Forest last season.... happy to take one for the team here.
I'm taking Miss Shady on her first camping trip in the peaks, so I'll be happy with whatever I can get on my phone.
England should have had that penalty. Then we would have won regardless.
The Nigerian team though were very physical and once again very attractive. I would like to play with them. (I meant Football).
Anyway, fun to watch in passing even though the quality is a tad pony at times.
Chicago: Taking a passing interest.
Columbia, Jamaica. Great take and finish for Columbia's goal...though best to gloss over how the ball got there. The general standard of decision making and passing from Jamaica is very poor though. It seems the general plan is to hit the ball tamely straight at the nearest defender. Columbia trying to get the ball forward quickly and hit on the break....with better quality, but being run over physically.
Love that officials wear sports trackers now. Presumably need to manage their load.
I'm going to be somewhere on the Thames downriver from Oxford. Was hoping to find a pub showing the Forest game but expect they'll all be screening the England one. So it'll probably be the radio for me.
