He got alot of the ball but didn't do very much with it unfortunately.

The worst moment attacking wise in the game was Origi. He has his usual in on goal down the right channel chance. He decided to try and square it for Wood but fucked up the pass.

He's had about 6-8 almost identical chances now during the season and fucked up every single one. I'm done with him. I'd rather bring on a youth player.

He's also paid twice as much as anyone else at a time when every penny should be over-accounted. His reputation is based on poaching important goals and on being not quite good enough for some very good teams. It wasn't a great gamble from any perspective (imho).

    Great effort on the Madri

Like Ribero.. who came on and put himself about to some useful effect. Happy to see a bit more of him at Origi’s expense (different players, I know, but still) I’ll forgive CHO and Elanga for their regular poor decisions because they do make good ones. Origi is where attacking promise goes to die. He’s Emmanuel Dennis without that one good thing that Emmanuel Denis did that time he did that one good thing.

Wolves had one corner yesterday. And scored from it.

Sean Dyche will be looking forward to next week.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 11:27 a.m.

What kind of player is Origi? I watch him a few times and I can see some nice touches and that's about it. He's like a slower Carvalho.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 11:32 a.m.

    A shit one.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 11:47 a.m.

Anyone else think Origi was an owner/owners son signing? I’ve heard of him/he played for bindippers etc. name overshadowing talent and fit.

Ribeiro showed two nice touches. That was it. £10m on someone from Portugal Division three.
T’Athletic did the big piece about our academy record and how it will end when Yates is suspended. It will end because of decisions like signing Ribeiro, rather than promoting academy prospects who can fill a bench just as well.
See also Omobamidele, who is just Worrall mk II. Slow, ponderous, sideways passes constantly, but without Joe’s pride in the shirt. Can you imagine the grief Joe would have had after the own goal and yesterday’s schoolboy attempt at stopping Cunha?

  • 14 Apr 2024, 12:11 p.m.

Origi, bearing down on goal to win the game: shall I score or shall I pass?

    No.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 12:34 p.m.

    Origi is shit.

But you have to look at the clown who keeps picking him. At least he has stopped starting him I suppose.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 1:33 p.m.

If you're talking about the first goal, that was Yates's fault. Omobamidele did his job perfectly - he ran Cunha down a dead end, stopped him cutting in, and slowed him down enough for help to arrive. Which it did in the form of Yates, who immediately took up position on the wrong side of Cunha in order to prevent him playing the ball to the one place it was never going, and giving him the opportunity to turn Omo. Not to take away from the outrageously good finish, but that was a very easily preventable goal if Yates had actually done what he should.

Worrall is 27. It’s fair enough to spend money on someone younger if it’s determined that Joe isn’t at the standard required. If you don’t sign Omobamidele, you don’t sign Murillo… for the same reason… have we got some academy kid who can, er, fill the bench like him?

  • 14 Apr 2024, 4:25 p.m.

Our academy record will end as we now need better players. Easier for them to get in the squad when you’ve spent 23 years out of the top flight. I get we’ve been good in the last and had academy players on the squad but the game is very different now and we need to get over our fairly average academy.

I have bigger fish to fry but I think we are fucked. I didnt think we would win another game but we beat Fulham which I think most fans accept was a one off. We have both Everton and Burnley away and have not beaten either so far, Man City will thump us we are not last seasons team. By the time we play Sheff U we will be down. Luton are more than capable of getting six points from remaining games. Brentford and Palace are safe. Everton will be as well. Forest are not even learning to defend set pieces and unable to hold a lead. I listened to Nuno he seemed to expect the inevitable.

  • 14 Apr 2024, 6:53 p.m.

Most fans, donny? I'll put a Shady on us getting a win before the end of the season. What are your odds?

  • 14 Apr 2024, 9:33 p.m.

Shame about Yesterday. We were the better side but just cannot put people away. As for set pieces? Nightmare really. I think Sels should have caught that. Having said that, I think Danilo is starting to hit form and he is going to be important. Ribeiro looks like a talented youngster and unfortunately Origi is Origi and I wish he had just gone for goal. I think Sa would have saved it back into Wood's path. It is what it is. It is going to the Wire. Everton are rubbish but they do the one thing we have a tough time with and that is defend long balls into the box. Might have to employ the big boys against the Bin Dipping Sky Merchants.

I think with Taiwo we will win games as he is the chaos merchant that we need. Cunha is a very very good player and he is that player for them... Cunts.

We just have to turn the draws into the wins. Donny you are trolling. That is all you do. Try being happy watching some decent football. We are far from Shit but we are. young.

If we have Elanga raring to go next week I think we sucker punch Ever-gone and cheated the system. We certainly have it in our locker.

We just have to press the advantage when we are winning. We have dropped 51 points this season (most in the premier league), so I am wondering if Nuno (and Coops) have always suggested to the players to consolidate the lead and play with caution rather than push to kill the game off. In this league unless you are rather brilliant at defending (something that we are not), then it's a bad idea.

MGW was excellent yesterday. Reyna was boring. He had a fair few chances to shoot and didn't and yet we fashioned some good chances.

I would give Ribeiro a chance if we have a choice between and Divog who seems short of confidence.

Pivotal few weeks coming up and Poo-ton and Bumley need to stop picking up points.

We have it in us. Just got to do it. I think we can. Our football is way better than it used to be. We just need the rub of the green. Please bear in mind, Villa struggled for three years beating relegation on the final day twice and now they are top four. So if we make it, we can kick on with some astute moves in the summer assuming that we don't get dicked by stupid fucking rules.

    Chicago: Still hanging on.
