They do not enjoy playing against Awoniyi. Think his shoulders have got even broader over the summer. He's looking more like the fabled old fashioned number 9.
Well, a substantial improvement on our last visit to Arsenal and also a substantial improvement on our opening game of last season away to Newcastle. We got better and evidently have real options on bench.
elanga looks like he could be fun to watch - was a lovely goal that we scored. It's a shame we have to concede so much possession but we did well at keeping them away from the keeper (who seems to have a good throw on him)
The last substitution, Wood and Chiek for Worrall and Brennan, seemed to break our shape. I get he was trying to force an equaliser but backwards step for me, Brian.
Add a top class keeper, defensive midfielder and a passable left back. Chop finely and bake at 180 degrees for 5 games and don't sell Johnson and we will be fine.
Deflected goal, and a worldy, but getting back in the game against one of the divisions top sides away. They were cacking it at the end. definite progress. We didn't deserve something, but mildly disappointing not to have got something. Definite progress over the start of last season.
We are much better at pace on the break, because we are not great on the ball.
I like Boly as a defender, but would prefer someone a bit more mobile. We desperately need a controlling midfielder...but then so do most top teams. They are the dish du jour.....and strikers are rocking horse shit. Playing Taiwo down the middle might give us one of the best outside the top six.
Definitely stuff to build on, but still need a few of the right sort......the question is would we be better sacrificing Brennan for it.
