There's a lot of loser talk round these parts. You'll all be laughing on the other side of your chops when we win 2-0 on Saturday.

P Taylor has Felipe and Awoniyi in his predicted team...

Felipe posted something on Instagram earlier which heavily suggested he's fit to play.

Taylor has him on the left of three with Worrall and Boly but having an entirely right footed back 5 seems like a weakness, so wouldn't surprise me to see Aurier/Worrall/Felipe/McKenna/Aina.

If we're playing a back three Felipe has to be central for me.

It's going to be a back 5. Don't expect the wingbacks to be doing much winging.

It’s this opening day match against Arsenal where I reminisce about Jean Claude Darcheville running at lightning speed towards Keown and scaring the crap out of him. Shame about the end product

I was at Highbury that night and his pace was terrifying Keown. Geoff Thomas scored a nice goal, from memory, to equalise with 15 or so minutes to go before they hit a late winner.

Hadn't Darcheville recently lost his wife and child in a car crash and was looking to get away from France for a bit? No wonder he was a bit inconsistent that season - seem to recall a decent spell north of the border with Rangers a few years later.

I was there, too - and the Thomas goal (though at the far end from us) was well-worked. I remember coming away even more frustrated, because we didn’t actually play that badly even without PvH, Cooper & Campbell - with them we’d have been fine… or so it felt. I think Glyn Hodges played that game, allegedly on the wing.

    Ho hum.

Not sure I see a 1-2 defeat this weekend.

I was at that one as well. Left the ground thinking we might be ok based on that performance.

I was also there, we would have been a lot better off if Thomas hadn't blown his knee a couple of weeks later from memory

BBC Nottingham tweeted: Defender Felipe ruled out for the season opener by #nffc Head Coach Steve Cooper. The Brazilian has a knee injury.
Cooper says he also expects the game to come too soon for Moussa Niakhate and Taiwo Awoniyi, though both are "just about returning to tranining".

But the Tweet has now been deleted!!

Taiwo, Felipe and Moussa all miss out.

if it's anything less than a three goal defeat i'll be surprised.
