They're coming around to fit a desk and wire a cable from my modem to my chosen home office location next week.

Congrats on the gig but…. Why??

I don’t know the facts at all.. but that doesn’t half fit the classic image of needless bureaucracy, cost, and technological backwardness our councils are famed for.

    S’nice of them though, like.

The good wife was a teacher who predominantly chose to work in the "bad" schools and she was good at it. Ofsted broke her.
She still works in a school as an inclusion coordinator for want of a better term. Largely works with the neuro diverse kids and helps teachers understand them to keep them in the classroom.
The nature of education is fucked. Kids aren't taught to think. How anyone competent stays in teaching I have no idea.

My wife’s a secondary teacher, she used to love it, less so now but doesn’t hate it. She’s a bit trapped though as is on the top banding and does two days a week so is a bit trapped as the money she brings home is reasonable and she gets the kids holidays off.

The father and father in law are retired head teachers. As was the mother in law who also worked in the delightful Wigston in a primary school.

We might not have brought in a striker overnight but we did pick up a new fan, with the arrival of my daughter’s first child.

My boy did his last shift behind the bar in our village pub tonight, before he heads off to University - one of his last acts there tonight was serving drinks to Steve Cooper, who was getting a round in for the LCFC coaching staff who he was there with.

After a couple of false dawns I beleive I have finally defeated the water board and they have refunded every bill they are unable to evidence, about 2 years worth. They were billing a meter, an address and an account number that all referred to different properties, of which none of which correct. Hurrah!

Did my third and final sitting on my arm and shoulder tattoo today. Then got another one on my ribs for the fun of it.

Should probably stop for a bit now.

Not really, I got tattooed when I was married as well. Just going through a bit of a phase of more at the moment.
