Completed on selling our flat in London today. I've not wrote about it on here for the last few months for fear of cursing it. So glad to be rid of that stress.

In all seriousness I've never had this much money in my bank account in my entire life. Currently opening various saving accounts and ISAs to spread it around. It's temporary anyway, it'll all be going on a new place within 6-8 months. This time it won't be leasehold and there won't be any crazy service charges or fucking cladding.

National Savings accounts are ok interest wise and secure for a big chunk if you don't want the hassle of setting up lots of accounts to spread the credit risk.

Edit: or I guess just pile into Crypto.

Spend it on a trip to Bhutan. It's the cure for what ails you.

And claim it was a fraud transaction if the price goes down

I got $141 this year. My wife got almost $10K. She thought that was great until I reminded her that it was always her money, and that she had been providing the government with an interest free loan.

I owe the taxman, so will probably get around to it some time middle of January.

Is it bad that I chucked a lump sum into my pension this week? I don't expect them to remove the higher rate of tax relief straight away but...

Was going to go in the annoying thread. Played golf on Saturday and managed to lose my wallet somewhere on the course. Spent several hours walking and driving round the course (also being reminded of all the shit shots I hit). Had frozen various cards and was about to start the tedious process of reordering bank cards, driving license, etc etc. when I got a call from the club to say it had been handed in. Yay.

In what would go into the non-existent “What’s concerning me about getting older” thread I have misplaced my wallet twice now in as many weeks. So I researched various tracker credit cards and ordered what I thought was a good one. It’s on back order for three weeks which means I could lose my wallet at least three times before it arrives.

Have you thought about having somewhere sensible to put your wallet?

    There are limited choices.
    1. My pocket.
    2. Valuables pocket in golf bag
    3. Valuables pocket in rucksack

Since I’ve switched to a small credit card wallet, the convenience has to be balanced with the lack of conspicuousness
