They can afford multiple off days and still get promoted comfortably unfortunately.

They have not been very good in lots of games this season and have often left it late to scrape a win. They’ll go up but watching them trying to out pass teams in the PL will hopefully be amusing.

Just discovered I have enough credit card points from work travel this year, to buy myself a gravel bike, allowing me to continue riding outside through most of this winter, when the roads around here are no longer suitable for the road bike.

Or, and hear me out on this, you could use them to buy some really nice things for the ladies in your life, enough that they won't mind when you make a quick trip to NYC on Xma Eve to watch the Jets / Commies game with me. You could get on a flight out of Newark after the game and be back in time to watch a movie with them before Santa comes.

The ladies already get plenty of really nice things, and your forgetting its the younger ladies birthday on Xmas eve… here have this shiny present whilst I bugger off to NYC to drink with Uncle Russ isn’t going to fly unfortunately..

Bought a 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD drive off of the eBay (hard drives are cheap right now) to add to my laptop. Delivered Saturday morning, I have a dual boot Windows/Ubuntu setup and some important data I can't lose - about 55GB of it.

Have completed a fresh install of Windows onto the SSD, added a fresh install of Ubuntu, have a partition of incredibly quick access storage space and 1TB of backup storage on the old SATA drive.

5 year old laptop is now lightning quick. All for £15.99.

That is good technology news. I have technology news to recount about kubernetes dual-stack installs using a wireguard-native flannel backend...but I'm in the wrong thread for that. Entirely the wrong thread.

Voted for the first time as a Canadian citizen. It was only for the leadership race of a provincial party, but it was good to be involved with the democratic process again. I believe I'm still eligible to vote in British elections although that eligibility expires next year, but I haven't bothered - it seems a bit rum to vote for leadership of a country that I don't live in.

Nobody here to vote for. I live in a Tory safe seat, the Liar Dems might have a chance. Being mostly farmers, my vote for Greens will be wasted so spoilt ballot it is.

My wife gets to vote in Welsh elections, but none of the rest. That's from day 1 in country. Hard to vote for Drakeford's Labour though, corruption is rampent throughout the public sector in Wales.

    Bring back Guy Fawkes.

You've missed the boat on that one. Pretty sure that he was burned a few weeks ago in Cotgrave. Which is not without precedent.

Please do. We need all the help from sane people we can get.

I bet Russ is up for some EOTHO malarkey. Free wings!

I wonder if we could get elected running on a single ticket, the EOTHO Party.

Vote EOTHO, the nearly free meal ticket.

Reference by someone earlier to the Liar Dems. Is this still going back to the coalition time when the junior part of the Coalition failed to push through their full manifesto?

Or is it a more recent reference (I haven't heard much from them in recent times, which is a problem for them I think).

It was a bit more than that though. I have some sympathy for them in the coalition but they campaigned explicitly to remove student loans and then voted to increase them. If I was impacted, I'd probably find that unforgiveable but even not being directly impacted, they deserved to pay a pretty hgh price.

They are a third party who were never going to form a government on thier own, they outght to be stating their red lines before the election but they had got too used to being able to be everything to everyone and weren't mature enough to actually be in government.
