Sadly, I'll probably be spending it in England. I'd prefer Boston.

Canadians are definitely better in Canada.

I am unlikely to go to the City home game on Boxing Day if you want to dibs my ticket.
Thank you, that's very kind. I already have a ticket lined up for that game but I'll happily have a pint with you if you do make it.

We're only a few hours flight from lots of great European destinations, but I wouldn't say that "it's really easy to go somewhere better" is a ringing endorsement of your home country.

It’s been moved to the 27th in case that changes things for you before you give your ticket away
Yes sorry, I realised that but wrote boxing day by mistake.
We are going to the in-laws in Scotland. I'm pushing to go on the 28th so I can go to Forest on the 27th. Mrs Shady wants to go on the 27th. The discussion is not yet resolved.
It's the in laws. She takes the kids on the 27th. You stay at home.
Inaugural TalkBack parkrun cup before the match on the 27th? Happy to move people about if needed.

We're hiring a car to get there. She can't drive. So she'd have to spend say £100 on a train for her and Little Miss Shady, then I'd have to drive the car up the following day with all our stuff. I mean I guess it's possible, but not really ideal.
I'm currently contemplating that we all go to Nottm in the hire car on the 27th, she goes shopping while I go to the game (early KO), then we drive straight from Nottm to Scotland. But that'll mean no beers at the game, and not getting there until 8-9pm (plus I'll be driving while likely quite tired).

This is a really good idea ... But don't think it'll work for me on the 27th, as discussed. Dammit.

Chocolate or strawberry?

This sounds like the option. If you can manage to take daughter to game with you then I'd say it can't be argued against.

I never had you down as pining for the Stump-infested Brexit capital of Lincolnshire, but there you go
