Took me a fortnight to shake off the bug Little Miss BW brought home from school. Had a week feeling well and now come down with another horrible cold. Fuck sake.

I've come down with a cold or something, also seems to be making me fart like crazy.
The wife, who very rarely drinks more than a glass of wine or half a pint, decided to invite several friends over for lunch. Between four petite Thai girls, over eight hours, they got through 11 bottles of wine then decided to go to the pub. My wife was back after ten minutes having vomitted before she even got to there. Two others got back 20 minutes ago, neither could climb the stairs so they're passed out in the living room. The other one isn't answering her phone, but loves around the corner so hopefully got home.
I guess it's good practice for what's to come with my 11 year old over the next 7 years, but why on the day I'm feeling this rough.
I'm getting the 11 year old of to school in the morning, then locking myself in my office for the rest of the day.

Been in A&E/hospital with Little Miss Shady again for the last few days. Discharged now though. When she gets a chest infection/cough it seems to hit her much harder than most and she gets short of breath/low oxygen. :-( Hopefully she grows out of it.

Sorry to hear this Shades. I have lived with a similar problem, as a result of medical treatment when I was in utero. In my particular case I have recently found that antihistamines reduce the problem. With me it's part of an asthmatic response and fluid on the lungs, which the antihistamines help damp down (or the other end of things - dry up). Clearly I'm not a doctor, and perhaps it's worth medical consultation...but I mention it here because no doctor ever mentioned it to me.

That's very interesting. Thanks. She does take antihistamines sometimes as she is allergic to a specific type of grass (according to a test last year). So in spring when grass pollen is high I give her some antihistamine medicine for a few days/weeks until the levels go down again. Trying to think about your situation and how to test it with her. I guess next time it feels like she is starting to go downhill I'll give her some antihistamine in addition to her inhalers and see if it helps.

Have you tried giving her LSD? I only mention it because the inventor of the drug was looking for a cure for the common cold, and whilst there are some pretty strong side effects, whenever I’ve done acid my hayfever clears up no end for a week or so afterwards.
A tab a week should do it. -
Also, you could consider moving to a very arid climate, like a sub-Saharan desert village or perhaps the northern Canadian tundra. The extreme temperatures make pollination far lower, thus ensuring a healthier upbringing. HTH.

I think LMS might be older than Stuart Ingo so maybe not relevant, but our youngest was in twice, once for 5 days, with RSV. He's always had a weak chest but seems to be getting better as he gets bigger.
