I don't understand how you overpaid the chemist. Did you tip them?

Real cost of drugs more than prescription cost?

So normally you help pay for his drugs...

East Midland Railway. Having to stand for 2 hours from London to Nottingham and pay for the privilege.

As my son said, it's a good job the football is worth all the shit travel experiences.

Shall we just cut to the point where we blame the Russians and go back to hounding out the best manager we've had in 30 years?

It's a pisstake that there's no compensation method for those situations.

To go through all the hassle and eventually see someone, it would be the cost of a prescription. Around £10?

For an online private prescription it’s £25.

    So I’ve overpaid.

1 win in 13. Some fans asking questions.

A real modern day hounding out.

Heck, last time I needed to see a GP in the UK I couldn’t book an appointment as ‘my’ surgery was booked out for the six weeks that they took bookings for, so had to just rock up as early as possible on a Wednesday and join the queue.

But, still, imagine my horror when I moved to a country where I can choose to PAY to see a GP. What is this dystopian US-style neoliberal hellscape?? Admittedly, I can see whoever I want, wherever I want, and can get appointments evenings, weekends, and within a few days.. so I suppose there is that.

GP services under the NHS have been a shitshow forever. Maybe there is a reason nobody else runs it like the UK does.

Blame the Tories if you like, but it’s not as if anyone else is proposing much other than ‘more money’. Maybe, perhaps, having a GP service that pays for having people registered with your practice, rather than, y’know, actually seeing them, is destined to be a bit shit.

It seems that Waitrose won’t let me cancel or rearrange a Christmas Eve delivery because one of the items (some sort of turkey joint) is already “being processed”. I don’t recall ever being informed that changes involving Christmas stuff can’t be made. Have complained.

Wes Streeting has talked about reform. But obviously the doctors unions went a bit mental.

But you can also pay to see a GP here, and that’s why the Tories don’t mind it being in the state it is. They are ok.

Worst of both worlds, here.Pay for GP visits, but there can be a waiting list of several weeks if your med centre is busy. The GP subsidy from govt is too small, so the centres run on minimal staff.

I'm ridiculously comfortable lying in my pyjamas on the sofa under a blanket nursing a hangover and watching football, all I need is a turkey and cranberry sandwich and to be left alone. But I know I have to get up and shower and dress and drive to my sister-in-law's, and I really don't want to.

Why do so many people have phone calls on loudspeaker? Even Mrs Charlie does it. And don't get me started about people doing it when they're out and about shopping or having a walk. STOP FUCKING SHOUTING YOU MORONS.

  • 27 Dec 2023, 9:52 a.m.

I wouldn’t do it in public but just seems easier to leave the phone on a surface and put the speaker on than hold it up to my ear like I’m from olden times.

  • 27 Dec 2023, 10:04 a.m.

I have no problem with that if your loud conversation isn’t making other people’s activities, like watching TV or reading, impossible. Which is what Mrs Charlie does.
