If Maguire can get picked, Worrall should be a good shout.

Why? What pictures of Gareth Southgate does Joe have?

3 times in the last 4 weeks I have gone home slightly tipsy and unplugged the TV in the front room, once I actually moved it to the back door (uncomfortable conversation with wifey).

I know why, I promised my mate I would give him the TV that's sat in the spare room. I'm just so disorganised that I haven't delivered it yet.

I'm only posting this to make sure I don't do it again tonight.

Yes, I am a fucking idiot.

    Don't be such a curmudgeon.

Without international weekend we wouldn't be able to see just how bad Harry Maguire is at the moment.

Just back from a week's holiday in Italy. Final mosquito bite count:

    Wifey: 2
    Daughter: 4
    Me: 43

    Why, God, why?

No God involved. If there was, it would have been 42.

Isn't the "long" here a bit superfluous? Do you call shorts, "short trousers" ? Or are you one of those people that wear 3/4 length trousers with brogues and no socks?

Maybe to stop the inevitable tedious pedantry of "you were just in boxers!?"?

You're right, it is. I got mixed up in my transatlantic languages - I was going to say long pants and then realised you'd have a conniption if I did, so changed it to trousers and forgot to drop the long.

Still, you knew what I meant. So language once again worked.

3/4 length trousers are the work of the devil. Ridiculous. Make up your mind, FFS. Trousers or shorts, not some dithery "oooh I can't decide what to wear" bollocks.

Off to Menorca in a few hours, excited and apprehensive at the same time as it's the first time we have been brave enough to take the boy abroad.

I casually mention that we could find a sports bar on Monday for the forest game.

Wifey reminds me that Monday is our anniversary.

    Bugger.

How old is the kid? We did Menorca last year with our 3 (at the time) year old. It was really great. We did the family resort thing .... which is terrible until you've kids .... then is perfectly bearable if not good. We just spent every day by the pool really. She even occasionally went into the kids club for an hour or two. Oh, and they had a kids party each evening from 8 till 9 in the ballroom which was the highlight of her holiday.

14, autistic, hence the first time abroad. He is fine until dealing with little kids or babies, that causes meltdowns. He just doesn't understand the noises they make or why babies cry. Your post does not fill me with confidence.

If we sit on a plane next to a baby, I may get off..
