Fingers crossed for Jeff and family, though not watching the football was probably a plus.

Long night in the pub. What with Tiawo's injury, extra time, and penalties. Quite enjoyable really. I feel sorry for the football friends who were there. That's got to have dragged. And they would have missed their trains.
Thanks all. Kids are remarkably resilient. And Dad looks like he needs a couple of stents to keep his arteries open.
Found out today an old friend and football (the pointy, American kind) teammate succumbed to cancer. Coincidentally one of my few non-talkback acquaintances who was a Forest supporter.
That’s at least three friends in the last year from cancer alone (a couple more from other ailments).
Getting old can fucking do one.
Sorry to hear that. Getting old sucks but it is better than the alternative.
Dogs in pushchairs.
At the dentist. Emergency extraction. Toughen up princess.
You should get some of those self removing teeth like I appear to have done a few weeks ago.
Saved a lot of pain, effort, time and money I found.
HTH.
Doesn't help. I'm very dense. My bones that is. Two unsuccessful extraction attempts, and a referral for surgical removal.
No, I think I still prefer my approach, but you knock yourself out.
Or get the anaesthetist to. Eh? Isn't it. I said, or the anaestheti etc.
The journey back from Nottingham to Reading after the Arsenal match.
Starting with the A42 being closed from the M1. Just in case you might think of diverting on the A453 and then joining the A42, the M42 was closed from the M6 to the M40 junction.
No problem, M69. Closed from J1 to M6.
A43? No entry to M40 southbound.
If all else fails, stay on the M1 and go round M25. M1 southbound closed from J9-8 with long delays.
Finally decided on A43 and followed diversion around Bicester. Cuntfuck of a journey. Add to that the endless stretches of the M1 and M40 where only one lane was open due to roadworks and you have a lot of fun and coffee required.
So, they managed to close every major route heading towards the south from the M1 in one night. Great coordination fuckwits.
I thought it was just right wing governments that had an anti-Reading bias.
Wasn’t really sure where to put this but seems the closest thread for it.
Said goodbye to Poppy, our cocker spaniel today, she’d been on the decline due to age since Christmas really and she had a heart murmur. She then pretty much stopped eating over the weekend and last night developed noisy breathing and we knew it was time. She had become weak and nothing could be done for her.
I thought I’d prepared myself for it as we’ve known it was heading this way but it’s been devastating really and the house feels strange without her and I keep going to see her or expect her to be there.
8 year old was very upset, 4 year old twins a bit young so seem fine. One suggested we get a kitten and call it Poppy so at least they seem over it, that was after I’d told her the news and she opened the front door to shout at her mum ‘the dog is dead’ as she was talking to some other mums on the school run. (Mum was obviously already well aware).
Ah shit, sorry to hear that. I found out early in the New Year that pet loss is a lot harder than I realised it would be. Our rescue cat was nearly 16 and had been with us for more than 13 years.
We adopted a mother cat and her kitten on Sunday and have loved having them with us. Everyone's different, of course, but when you all feel the time's right, it's a nice thing to do as a family. We said Little Miss BW could chose the cat(s) and name(s), which has been a nice childhood memory for her.
Sorry to hear that, we have a cockerpoo also called Poppy. She's 13 and I'm dreading the day, I can't imagine what I'll be like.
I am really sorry to hear that, sending my sympathy. It is really heart-breaking.
