Australians particularly personify a trait that is common to all predominantly white English speaking countries that I've been to. The ones who have left, whether it be through emigration or just extensively traveling, are mostly very decent people. The ones who haven't are generally thoroughly unpleasant people. Obviously this is purely anecdotal but it's a big enough sample over my 50+ years that I trust it.
I assume that England itself sits pretty high on the chart there.

Like cricket and football, England invented it then exported it to the rest of the world. Unlike cricket and football, England remain the undisputed champions of the world.

Worth remembering that a lot of Brits who "travel" take their little corner of the UK with them. Much like Australians in Bali.

Isn't the difference that English who emigrate are also predominantly cunts too....

Wait a minute....

Not gonna lie, that’s not far off. At least not for those that come down here. There’s a lot to be said for Australia but ‘it’s sunny and we’re allowed to be a bit more racist’ does seem to stand out as the reason a lot of English end up here. Fortunately, those people can be mostly avoided by simply not going to Queensland.
Christchurch is where most of the 20th+ century expats who wanted "England, but foreign" went in AoNZ. Colonists were a different case.

My experience was that it's massively worse in WA. Never heard as much openly racist bullshit anywhere I've been in the world as I did in Perth and Margaret River.
Not doing a correlation/causation thing here, but there are a lot more South Africans in WA.

This has also generally been my very limited experience. The major exception being some that haven't left but work in a multi national / multi cultural professional environment. I also get the sense of disenfranchisement and just generally your regular older aussie bloke being pissed of ready to vent on a trigger hair -- but maybe that's not anything particular to Oz.
Oh, and maybe folks are generally more pissed off here in the cold winter because building insulation is an absolute pile of shit and central heating is practically unheard of.

I’ve not spent much time there, but it doesn’t surprise me. TBH over here we’re not entirely sure whether WA is actually the same country.
A few weeks ago I agreed to go to a gig with a friend tonight. I have no interest in the bands playing and I'm really tired and I really don't want to go, but I have to.
Update: it was an epic night. Always say yes to shir, the only gigs you regret are the ones you don't go to.

It kind of isn't. Different colonisation document (AoNZ is on the same one as East Aus), and nothing crossed the Nullarbor gap for a looooong time. Might as well be a separate island.
I think I need to look at a map to understand wtf you guys are on about.

Can you give the rest of us a refresher on how east-west works in upside-down-land?
