Danilo played, along with MGW, just behind Taiwo didn't he? If so, don't think that is the type of player Sangare is. He's more Yates and Mangala like.

Indeed, I think we wanted a Sangare so that Danilo can operate further forward. Chances are, both Danilo and BJ would have played against Burnley, so I think Elanga gets BJ’s spot. Maybe Sangare gets Danilo’s place and Mangala pushes up a bit so that nobody from the last game has to be dropped/rotated. I don’t know what sort of player Dominguez is, but assume he’s a ‘between Sangare and MGW’ type, so a Danilo alternative.. but SSC likes ‘slow and steady’ when integrating new players, so maybe Mangala has dibs on the 1st XI for a little bit.
If Serge is possibly heading off I guess we’ll see less of him so maybe Montiel or Williams gets a start.
Think you are ending up with 12 players if Sangare comes in for Danilo (as Elanga is already in for Danilo) if that makes sense.
Someone has to drop from Saturday team that finished the first half if you want Sangare in.
If cloughy was still in charge the first team squad would be overdosing on tea for the next couple of weeks.
Yes this.
We’ve signed all these guys, we have to play them somehow.
So ship them off to olympiakos like all the others?
Or take the Stuart Pearce approach to team selection.
One of our plentiful full backs can play rush.
Ian, or "I surrender"?
...sorry, that was rainbow. As you were.
Worth pointing out that a huge chunk of our squad, including Sangare, are out on international duty, so won't have any time to work with the squad and coaching staff.
My guess is the team against Burnley will look very similar to the one that started the second half against Chelsea.
Which I think, again, underlines how far we've come in the past two years. Agree about the likely lack of major changes for the next game, too.
Still waiting for that first full England international since Pearce, though.
True. Suspect MGW is our current best bet. Maybe CHO as an outside shout if he finds a Lazarus-like resurrection under Cooper? He's been capped at full England level before, right?
Fuck it, Yatesy will be next.
If Maguire can get picked, Worrall should be a good shout.

Why? What pictures of Gareth Southgate does Joe have?
