I bristle at the suggestion that he was a bit shit. He was a handful, rather than easy on the eye, I would concede. He gave us some fine moments, not least of which was converting Ian Walker (and, as an aside, the ball).

He was also signed for about £200k as a backup, yet seemed to be an easier target for abuse than some of the multi million £ signings that other clubs were making (Chris Armstrong to Spurs anyone?).

Him charging at a visibly shitting himself Ian Walker in front of the Trent End is one of my favourite goals. Scruffy but funny as fuck.

Ah yes. David Blackface Baddiel. What a fucking hoot. Only finally apologised when he was promoting his own anti-semitism documentary. Apex cuntitude.

I thought the ultimate vindication for Jason Lee was when Black Panther villain Killmonger affectionately adopted his look.

That Heather Small recorded the vocals for Black Box's Ride On Time and that when the group performed the song on TV, they hired an Italian actress to lip sync on stage.

I genuinely had no idea that was Heather Small's vocal.

I learnt this many months ago, but there is a place in the Shetlands called Twatt. Between that and maidenhead there seems to be a theme today.

It originally sampled Loretta Holloway from Love Sensation but they got sued, so got Small to re-record. I think it was Holloway on the first TotP (still lip synced, obviously) and they re-recorded shortly afterwards.

There might not be a club world cup. FIFA can't get TV companies interested in paying big money, because TV companies don't think it will be a success.

Its been a thing for ages hasnt it? I'm sure i recall it being held mid (European) season, about January time once and Man Yoo withrew from tbe FA Cup to participate.

Much (manufactured, no one was that fussed really) furore ensued.

I think this time they are trying to make it like the world cup with many more teams and lasting a month or so.

I think this is the much expanded version of the Super Cup, which I seem to recall was a one off match between champions of Europe and south America. Didn't we play Nacional one year?

Given the 115 charges and possible huge points deduction / relegation shouldn't they be asking the Football League?

Toyota Super Cup? Might have made that up... I was about 6 or 7 years old.
