I'm pretty sure they only started routinely playing Mull of Kintyre pre-match at the Blackpool play-off semi-final.

I have long been of the belief / recollection that Talkback is primarily responsible for MoK at kick off, because you're right, it's not something we've always done. I don't know how many years ago it was, but Geoff (the old Forest webmaster) took a straw poll on Talkback as to what song Forest should play just before kick off - I forget what the other options were, but MoK was definitely the clear favourite and the week after, it became so and has stuck and grown ever since.

Obviously Geoff was active on other, busier Forest forums and he may well have asked the same question there, but I am not and so I choose to believe it was entirely our doing.

The only Geoff that has been on here in the last 20 years was Ingo Jeff. So your vote would've been pre League One years which was when I was last a season ticket holder and those days were the Chemical Brothers - Born Slippy years, which I don't think they do anymore.

I love it, and I think they still do (though honestly I'm normally having a rapid pint and piss to notice).

They do still play Born Slippy. Had the lyrics read out in a pub quiz a little while back and they were entrenched in my brain.

That's not true. Geoff is his actual name, not his TB username.

This argument needs the archive. @tricky, can you fire it up and get the FACTS?

Geoff Peabody is a legend and a top bloke. For those of you who don't/didn't know them you are either young or ignorant as pigshit.

He's also hilarious company after a few drinks of the wine... (so much so he gave me one of his trophy's because he was in such a good mood the mentalist..).

Anyway, what were we talking about?

Pretty sure we'd need to go back at least 4 board incarnations to find it, and I don't think the archive goes back that far.

My view is that whenever play is stopped for a head injury, it should be mandatory for the player to get a full, off field, independent, concussion check. Would hardly ever happen then.

    Told ya.

How does that work with keepers though? (I actually think Mad Matz should have gone off for a concussion check after he was taken out by Not Neil Danns (interestingly that challenge would have been a red card in rugby, but only a yellow in football).

Goalkeepers are always an exception. They don't have to go off when the physio comes on either.

Keepers are immune to head injuries. Already brain-damaged.

Dave Save was about to take issue with that, but then he thought 'fair enough' and spoke in the 3rd person instead.
