Well you chose to leave UK. Our elections are completely normal, & not one of our recent leaders has been remotely deranged or imbecilic.

    Oh.

Still, “Murca, love it or leave it!” (as I believe they say back in your “home”) [Winky thing in a MAGA hat and ear bandage]

I saw a piece this morning that I thought was pretty insightful, that Walz is the first person on a US Presidential ticket in a long time who provides a healthy model for the average straight white guy and that that is resonating with a huge part of the population. He's a football coach who provides tips on fixing cars and likes to hunt, but also supports reproductive health measures and LGBT acceptance. Hate is exhausting, and America now has a man who everyone can identify with and support even if there are specific things he thinks with which they don't necessarily agree.

The Republicans are trying to call him Tampon Tim because of measures he enacted to provide menstrual products free of charge in Minnesota schools. They're so out of touch that they actually think that this is going to help them.

I've seen Walz called the Friday Night Lights candidate. Never seen it myself, but that vibe of family wholesomeness sounds about right. I kinda associate him more with Mr Cunningham from Happy Days

The most resonant thing I’ve heard repeated about him is that he’s a dad for all the people who lost theirs to Fox News.

The comparison I've seen a few times now is Ted Lasso.

Kamala dog walked Trump in the debate, and not half an hour after it was over Taylor Swift publicly endorsed her.

It was actually entertaining despite the lies and fudging

I thought “they” ate all the dogs?

Guru loves it when I talk about the odds, so can point out that they flipped overnight from 1.94/2.14 in Trump's favour to 1.93/2.14 in Harris's.

Also, regarding Taylor Swift - what a fucking creep: x.com/elonmusk/status/1833728804579111268

All very good, but have a minus point for the phrase ‘Kamala dog’.

  • 11 Sep 2024, 11:05 a.m.

That's not the phrase. She dog walked him, meaning she put a leash on his head and took him exactly where she wanted him to go.

  • 11 Sep 2024, 12:09 p.m.

Currently watching the whole thing back while working. You forget he's such a fucking mental case. He looks stupid. I enjoy her laughing at him occasionally.

  • 11 Sep 2024, 1:04 p.m.

The problem with this analysis is that all his fucking loathsome lunacy has been on display a billion times before and it's still basically 50:50 between him and Harris.

I had hoped he might shit his big baby pants or get his cock out. Maybe use the N word.

Just rambling bullshit about eating pets isn't going to change the game

  • 11 Sep 2024, 1:13 p.m.

Everyone can see what he is, if they are prepared to really look.

So the big question is why is there such a widespread conspiracy to prop him up, and promote him?

The problem isn't with the salesman, it's with the snake oil and it's production.

This is a tight election. A small proportion of the American public hold the decision in their hands. The contrast between the two candidates that was displayed last night absolutely is part of the process of convincing them which way to fall.

People have to forget about the MAGA cultists, no one is expecting them to change their minds.

The undecided voters are giants arseholes. How can you not know who you are voting for? Are you looking for attention. Are you that dumb?

I think the answer is yes yes and yes.

The fact that the race is close is incredible to me. Then again I will be getting my flu and covid shots in the next couple of weeks and people don't want things that can help protect them either.

I wanted to watch it and then didn't want to watch it because she was coming out with stories and platforming until she caught wind of the fact that maybe just maybe answering a question or calling people out for nonsense is where we want you to go. She went from Politician to real person in that debate but it took a little while. What set him off was when she goaded him by saying that people were bored with his rallies and were walking out and then he really lost his shit. Which was hilarious.

I still don't know who the wife of the Mayor of Moscow is and how she managed to pay Joe Biden 3.5 million dollars. It was a very precise figure. I would like to know how he came into that information. I wish she would have bought up the fact that Trump had six months to give up the documents when the FBI and the Government kept asking him to send them back. That is why is was being prosecuted and if only after his baseless acccusations about Biden taking money would she have asked, "why did Jared Kuschner get 2 billion off Saudi Arabia to start a financial fund and then never do it? Was it because you were trying to sell the nuclear secrets that you had in the documents in your toilet?".

    Oh if only.

Anyway, I enjoyed it more than I thought I might. The problem is that he is still popular and I have no idea why.

This country makes me feel like a Genius. And you wonder why I moved here. (that wasn't the reason but C'est La Vie...)
