Think that ends the possibility of Biden not running. News cycle has moved on.

Latest Fox polling (and they run a respectable polling operation) has Biden 1pt behind Trump, and no different to any of the likely replacements. I think he should stand down.. but it’s a live contest either way.
I also firmly believe that anyone saying they will switch their vote after yesterday is a liar. Yeah.. the photo is top class.. but the guy in it is still Trump. He’ll raise some money off of it.. but he can raise money off being convicted of crimes so, y’know, it’s probably an irrelevance as far as the election goes. Plus, it doesn’t look like they’re going to pin a lefty political motivation on the shooter. He wasn’t a radical… just a broken kid in the America that the Republicans are committed to fighting for. It’s telling that they’re just not talking about him.. they’re mainly just trying to capitalise on it to get people to stop saying mean true things about their special boy. ‘We need to turn the temperature down’.. say the party accusing immigrants of poisoning the blood of the nation.
You can see their point. I can imagine the Sioux are furious about what has happened to their country.
Great buns though.
We are fooked... (probably).
Chicago: Starting a hoarding business.
Chances are that will be appealed and overturned, but it'll be too late, the whole point was to kick it down the road
Seems like common sense has won and Biden is likely to stand down.
Now are they brave enough to overlook Kamala in favour of someone actually good?
Emily Maitlis has done some great interviews for The News Agents podcast from the Republican National Convention. She is terrific.
I have been seeing some of those doing the rounds, one with Farage asking why he was suddenly back in the US rather than looking after his new constituency, and one with Kari Lake .... how she kept her cool with that woman, and managed not to lose her temper with her after the way she spoke to her I will never know. She is a better woman than I am!
The Farage interview today was amusing. "Respresenting your constituants here in, erm, Wisconsin".
I’m no defender of Farage but he is technically also the leader of his party and wants to be the main right wing party in the next election, so building relationships abroad is pretty normal. For him to spend a week out of the commons isn’t going to make much difference to anything and if the people of Clacton thought they were getting a dedicated constituency mp, that’s on them.

That's not what he's doing though. This is a purely personal trip. I don't argue with the point that he was never going to be a Good Constituency MP, but he should be called out for his lies constantly.

There is certainly pressure but nowhere does it indicate he is going to do the right thing. I think he won't and we will all suffer because of it.
Chicago: Pessimist.
I don't think the Right Thing is as clear as you seem to think. Not being Trump is a powerful thing, but the legal challenges, the racism, and the sexism will be rolled out in force whether it's Harris or not.
Fwiw, Biden should have declared months ago that he wasn't running again, imho.
Biden has stepped down
