Yes he is. But that cult is nowhere close to big enough to win. Indeed, I expect that the numbers who will vote for literally anyone to keep him out are bigger. The election is about all the other people.

More fool you. We said that when he beat Hilary. He has a massive base and most of the morons think that Biden is now in Dementia. The general sentiment is that Biden is the only man in history to make Trump seem presidential in comparison.

Replace him. I think it’s the only way. Biden can still go out with dignity by saying yeah another four years might be too much for him. It’s plausible. Otherwise I sense disaster.

    Chicago: Nowhere near as optimistic

He beat Hillary because she was a bad candidate whom a lot of people had a strong dislike for (for a number of reasons, including bad ones) meaning that a whole bunch of people just didn’t come out and vote for her when they had for Obama and then did for Biden last time. She still got more votes than Trump, but not where she needed them.

The people running the Democratic Party are very bad at their job. None of this has to happen.

Harris has a similar problem to Clinton. Fundamentally a better candidate, but people just don't like her and for generally dodgy reasons.
I suspect Sunak has the same thing. He's Just Another Tory, but no-one likes him.

    To reiterate, fuck Gavin Newsom.

So it seems that this: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/23-939_e2pg.pdf has basically given the president of the US total immunity from prosecution. (Mostly of benefit to republicans as I'm sure the lines around official acts will be drawn differently for republican and democrat presidents.)

So no risk of subsequent prosecution for whatever Trump gets up to after January.

    Interesting times.

I think Biden should have Trump killed as an official act and then resign because it's job done. Simples.

    Chicago: Executing a plan.

  • 12 Jul 2024, 7:50 p.m.

During one of election debates, someone did the "are you really the two best candidates" thing. But both Starmer and Sunak can speak in sentences and paragraphs and hold a thought for a 5 minutes.

How have the US ended up with Trump v Biden again? (Or maybe not.)

  • 12 Jul 2024, 8:39 p.m.

Normally a US President runs again as he is usually guaranteed a win unless your name is Trump. The problem being that Biden's health is failing him and everyone is a pussy apart from Handsome George Clooney and cannot get it through his thick skull he is going to lose and fuck democracy in the process.

I like Biden. He has done a lot of good things but it's over and someone has to grab him by his grey pubes and get him out of there so that the Orange Nazi doesn't get back in and we all have to live the Handmaid's Tale...

    Chicago: Man On The Edge

  • 12 Jul 2024, 8:43 p.m.

Honestly from the outside, it's mental he's running again. He can't speak in coherent sentences.

He wasn't great 4 years ago, but he's much worse now, what will he be like in four years time?

There's no way the people around him should have let him run.

  • 12 Jul 2024, 8:46 p.m.

    I hear you sister...

    Chicago: In Total Agreement.

  • 12 Jul 2024, 9:05 p.m.

He was coherent for an hour then he accidentally called his mate President Putin and his colleague Vice-President. We all do shit like that don't we?

  • 12 Jul 2024, 11:06 p.m.

I am sure Zelensky was thrilled....

    Chicago: Still mildly cogent.

  • 13 Jul 2024, 7:50 a.m.

He was always prone to gaffes. The problem is that too many Dems weren't able to differentiate in time between those gaffes and the indicators of cognitive delay he subsequently demonstrated. Now they're left with this shit-show four months out from an election.

  • 13 Jul 2024, 11:58 p.m.

Someone shot at trump. Unfortunately missed. Can’t we get good snipers nowadays.

Or it was a massive publicity stunt. Worked for Bolsinaro…

    Chicago: A little disappointed.

  • 14 Jul 2024, 12:35 a.m.

Doesn't look like they missed, more that it was a really weak gun. Strangely.

A low velocity rifle would explain why more of the crowd were not hurt, and they would lose accuracy over a long range.
