It is if you listen to Steve Bannon (not that I recommend it).

It’s also fairly obvious that his Sunday night rants and proclamations are as much a distraction from his abysmal meet the press interview as they are his/their usual Flood the Zone bullshit.

Appears that Trump's first post-liberation day trade deal is with, errr, the UK. Seems unlikely that anything comprehensive will have been agreed in a fortnight but I'm sure there will be plenty for everyone not to like. (Ideally, we've got him to remove all tariffs in exchange for getting to meet the King.)

I presume we're removing the digital tax from Amazon, Google etc - and in return he's putting the car tariff back down to what it was a month ago i.e. we're getting screwed.

The word on nottwitter coming out of people in the administration is that the only thing that’s been agreed is that there will be talks.

I’ll leave it for smarter folk than me to work out what ought to be done, but hopefully something along the lines of the rest of the world telling them to fuck off is an option that wouldn’t immiserate billions.

By the looks of it. The U.K. Will allow shit food from the USA to be imported in because the EU actually has standards. Nice one Kier. I understand the economy was fucked by Brexit but let’s just poison our citizens with god knows what horrors the food industry of America will bring.

Would have been better to rejoin the EU.

I just read the story. I won't eat American raised beef because it is shit and dangerous for other world wide herds. This will just make fast food cheaper and raise the obesity cost for the NHS. Well done labour twat face leader. Can't be arsed to learn it's name so it will stay as labour twat faced leader.

Haven't we ended up in a worse position than we were pre Liberation day, with tariffs still charged to us at a higher rate than then but we've given up some tariffs and are importing beef.

That's some fucking great negotiating there from us. Starmer declaring it a real victory, what a cunt he is.

More of a cunt than the Johnson, or Truss? Or Theresa May who erected red lines to mean it was a hard brexit against the majority of peoples wishes? Do you imagine these things are single issue in isolation? Can the UK afford to ream out it's immediate GDP and trading profile on the basis of principle, given that fascism has made meaningful trade with Europe impossible for a couple of generations at least? We are in a worse position than we were pre Liberation day, because global fascism pulled the rug on us, and we have no significant clout. What's your preferred course of action? Sail on Boston?

Starting from here, what would you do? You may want to factor in complete meltdown if there is any attempt to align with the EU rather than the US. Also, why would the EU make that possible, given our recent track record - and if they would, how long would it take?

Keir Starmer didn't back us into this corner. He's just the cunt left holding the baby, and having to make least worst calls.

P.S. The global conspiracy has done nothing but undermine the current government since it came to power. Don't imagine there aren't moves out there to poison the public perception of them until the UK is brought back into line. What's your preference to labour (and an 'ideology' I can only bear through a held nose)? Is it the talentless sell out political vacuum that is the tories, entirely compromised by their desire to shovel cash into their, or their partners pockets, or maybe 'Reform' Putins vehicle for funding chancers, the integrity free, and mental incompetents, to completely destabilise democracy in the UK for all time?

Hold your nose, and chow down on the shit. We were always going to be eating a fair amount. We chose it for ourselves.

Starmer has done as well as he could in these negotiations. Let’s be honest, the yanks don’t really need us. It’s just another complete load of shit left behind by the last government that his party will try and clean up. I mean blame him, blame his party all you like but you’ll be getting Reform, then you’ll see what cunt looks like.

I think I'm on record as thinking all politicians in modern times are self serving cunts. Being the best cunt is something I suppose.

I do think any deal has the unfortunate effect of legitimising Trump, when it would be vastly preferable for the world if he was isolated and ignored.

But I get that the deal will make the country richer and that's what's going to get Starmer reelected. Noone will vote for him because he stood up for the limited principles he has.
