I thought Abbott looked good and can cover for Ola. Toffs is not so good in possession. Sangare for Danilo but Eliot and Nico need to play in the centre of midfield with Elanga, CHO and MGW. I’d rather go down fighting than play a overly defensive game where we have too many square pegs in round holes
We just need to go for it in the remaining games.,
I think nobody in the league can currently cover for Ola. Let alone an eighteen year old with no league appearances.
You are just being intentionally silly to make me cross.
As in: in the absence of Aina, Abbott is the least worst option
Williams back from suspension. And other options tactically.
I can't agree on the back of observable outcome.
North London Tavern was just the job cheers Jim.
I'm not sure there's really any comparison between Aina and Abbott. Abbott looks like a developing centre half who did an impressively competent job as a stand in right back, but looked nothing like the kind of all action full back / wing back that Aina is.
I'm fairness the comparison wasn't with Aina, it was with other options.
We could have been truly fucked on that side today in the absence of Aina and Neco, knowing that they could play Marmoush, Doku, Grealish with O’Reilly backing up. Given the problems we had against Villa and Newcastle, I’m sure I was not the only one who raised more than an eyebrow when Abbott was selected and feared the worst.
So, all I’m saying he did a very competent job which was a pleasant surprise.
No. You said he was the best option behind Aina, which he ain't.
I'd be surprised if he plays again this season, barring injury crisis or dead rubber.

Exactly this, no one thinks he is better than Aina, just that both full backs were a concern, but both were solid and did their job effectively.
I've made a formulae so that guru can understand.
(in the absence of Aina, Abbott is the least worst option) ≠ (Abbott did okay)
I saw Forest in an FA Cup semi-final.

You may be right. But “doing ok” is an 18 year old (19 in May) making an FA cup debut in a semifinal a Wembley against a side with unbelievable strength down that side. Why not give him another go if Aina is not fit? We can then play Neco on the left where he is more effective. Goal line clearance aside, I thought Toff was relatively poor with the ball on monday and again today.

Ticked that one off 37 years ago!
