You come out with a lot of guff but “the view at the old Wembley was much better??” They even sold cheaper tickets because you were sat behind a post.
Also, time for my Gary Parker story?
I think one was Simon*, the other ZDS when we won it. And now I think of it, why were Liverpool allowed to compete seeing as it all came about post Heysel.
*autocorrect has now officially renamed this competition.
I think we need to find out what the various cups were called when. I think the league cup became the milk cup as it's first sponsor, and it was just after we owned it, and we never won it again.
I've been to all Wembley appearances since the 1st League Cup v Liverpool which apparently is 12 in total. I wasn't born in 1959 so unfortunately can't claim 100% attendance at competative games. We were at a friendly tournament at Wembley in 1988 which I missed.
I had that one in the late 90s/early 00s. Got it from The Old Fashioned Football Shirt Co (TOFFS). They no longer seem to carry it as far as I can tell. Here it is at another site
Website says it’s 50s vintage?
I was always tempted by their repro Dukla Prague away shirt as it came with a copy of the single.
