I believe there are some ongoing frustrations amongst City fans about ticket pricing which may also have played into the numbers. They have frozen season ticket sales and matchday tickets are apparently £88 for adults and £58 for kids. That's a big ask for your average person. Following your club around is not possible for a lot of people now, even without regular Wembley trips.

That's insanely expensive. That will get you into most NFL and NHL games, which are typically at least twice as long and offer a lot more in the way of comfort and experience.

This definitely played into it. Some of it is “protest” some of it economic. For most Forest fans, this was a great day out. Currently happens infrequently. If we ever get to the fortunate position of (a) very expensive season tickets and (b) twice a season trips to Wembley, then we can judge. Can’t believe I’m defending City fans…but hey ho.

I think those quoted prices are the top end, so there may be cheaper options, but it seems that the stadium capacity has been increasing but the season tickets available have been reducing, presumably in order to maximise the revenue on a game by game basis from matchday sales. We are already seeing it at Forest to some extent with frozen season tickets and all the memberships. It's definitely impacting my ability to go to games.

Haven't our season ticket numbers been capped since 2019 at the number of seats outside the Main Stand? Not to say they'll definitely sell more if/when that stand gets rebuilt but that excuse is pretty robust.

Right now at Forest demand >> supply. If we expand, will that still be the case?

For City/Spurs/Chelsea, I presume there is a price per ticket which offsets a certain number of empty seats? E.g., if a Man City ST holder puts their seat on the exchange, they get 1/19th back if it’s sold. The club charge twice that, so I assume that for every 100 tickets returned, they only need to sell 50 to break even. Obviously not the case for Wembley but what are the consequences to the club if they don't sell their allocation? Is it their problem or the FA’s problem?

I have engaged in a conscious uncoupling. A large component is that I don't like what it's become, and no I won't just swallow whatever unpleasant fayre is forced on me, at whatever cost.

I will go to a game with you next season when we visit. You will have a great time watching me spazz out watching our team rise to the occasion. Even if it's Port Vale away in the cup. I mean who could forget Wig Wham?

    Chicago: Community minded.

I saw one Forest fan in a seriously retro shirt. Not the “white square with Nottingham coat of arms” version (I think that’s what Guru has - he was wearing it at the play-off final; I have one of those and am actually old enough to have seen Forest playing in it. This guy had a red shirt with the green “Forester” bloke inside a white square, which could even be pre-WW2. I couldn’t get to him in the scrum outside Wembley Park to ask about it - & then some poor City fan collapsed so we all got out of the way sharpish. Last thing I saw he was getting CPR, & it didn’t look good. Hope he’s OK

See deciding to sell my Leicester ticket. Forest are really draining my bank account at the moment.

So, based on all the above: the underlying causes of non-attendance are already at play (games are getting too expensive to go to every one, people selling tickets on, people deciding that the “game’s gone’, corporate greed etc). What we are now debating is the level of game for which you would forsake a ticket. Leicester at home? Yes, perfectly acceptable. Cup Semifinal at Wembley. Definitely not.

I’m just saying let’s pass judgement on the latter once we have played finals, semifinals, charity shields at Wembley twice a year, every year for 14 years. (For reference there were 47,000 at the Simon Cup Final at Wembley in 1989. 72,000 for the League Cup in 1990).

I was at the Simod cup final in '89 (I have witnesses!).

Does this make me the best fan, or the worst? Confused.

I went to the ZDS Final. Was that the same thing? I believe we're the forever champions as a result of the match I was at, which probably makes me an even better fan.

Seen a Man U fan's rant doing rounds on social media who claims he can't make the Bilbao game so "sold" his and his daughter's ticket back to the club for £60 (£39 and £21), but club are now selling the seats, with a meal (Lancashire Hotpot), for £399 each!

I went to both ZDS finals (89 and 92). Do I win anything?
