Injuries + extra time + penalties is about as bad as could have been hoped. Winning and losing both have positives, but I'm still not entirely unhappy
The one reasonable excuse is how shit the pitch was.
Well, that was a bit shit. Played for the best part of two hours with the delays, back-up striker stretchered off, big guns called off the bench to play an hour on a crap pitch and fans won't get home until gone 3am. Filed in suboptimal.
The players' reaction at the end said it all really. Ah well, they made it through, I guess.
But the ones who will play at the weekend only really played a half, so not too bad.
