I've managed to bork turnstile, so login is currently operating in a mode of non-functionality. For reasons that I know not why.

    Working on it.

Looks like a possible corrupted database. Will look at rebuilding from backups tomorrow.

Until then, things will mostly not work, or gradually cease working, as the stack relies on turnstile to validate tickets and allow access to services (periodically - this forum should continue to work if you are already logged in).

    That sounds bad :(
Is that why the Turdle game wont load for me this morning? (or is that just my phone being a pain)
I guess it is one of those things with entire new websites etc, there are going to be teething troubles whilst it all settles in. I hope the rebuild goes well.

Turnstile is now rebuilt from backups, and is fully operational (subject to further testing).

It looks like it was a result of database corruption arising from circumstances around Debian testing repositories moving onto a release footing (expect Debian bookworm any day now).

All your user details remain the same, and your current registered authenticator will remain active. You may have to log back in to access services, as the reinstallation will have expired current session tokens.

In the process of investigating the logs, it seems that some of you who have reported issues logging in (particularly on the phone) have had those problems because of blank space inserted before or after entering your usernames or passwords. Some key entry methods autospace after words. Make sure that what is in the username and password boxes is exactly what it should be, with no added spaces.

I am glad you got it fixed!
I have logged out and back in just to check I remembered how and it worked first time, without any drama or hassle, authenticator worked fine, and I am back in with both my phone and laptop.

Did you turn it off and then back on again?

There's nothing worse than a middle aged man who still thinks that he can turn things on.
