Turkish Delight

It was a reference back to the number of "Good Time To Play Them" games that we have blown.

That was horrible.

Lucca was seriously shit. Mcatee was probably relieved how shit Lucca was as it took the shit spotlight off him.

I know he gave a penalty away, but I've liked the look of Cunha every time I've seen him.

Murillo was shit tonight.

He was. I'll let him off (a bit) playing left back though.

The first half was very poor, Vitor was diplomatic with his reasoning for taking those four off but all were rubbish and hopefully was saving Murillo for Sunday.

Cunha was good, he’s very fast.

Hutchinson is good until the final ball. He’s still young so hopefully has the ability to learn with some decent coaching.

Lucca is really really shit but might be better if we played it to his head with him facing the goal.

Hope Ortega isn’t too badly injured after his John Victor/Matt Turner impression.

2-1 flattered them and positive we don’t let that slide after we all thought we knew what was coming.

Funniest part of the evening was a group behind me chanting Leicester reject a few times at their number 6, thinking it was Wout Faes.

I didn't think they were bad mostly. I was more annoyed that there was nobody in the box to tap them in.

Morato is fucking awful. Cunha is good. Very Fast. Very unlucky for the penalty. McAtee kept going round in circles and backwards. Lucca makes me yearn for Taiwo. I mean what the hell has the big fellow done to be replaced by this donkey. Yatesy was terrible too although dislocating his finger probably wasn't on the cards and Murillo was showboating and getting caught all over the place.

We were terrible in the first half. Better in the second but boy was that much harder work than it should have been., Anderson playing the whole game wasn't optimal but at least he didn't get a yellow which would have discluded him from playing in the next game.

Aaargh we are so frustrating... Anyway through to the next nailbiting round. Really need to be better against Bright one.

Chicago: Watching the game in the middle of the night.

Cunha was the main positive last night. Morata as erratic as ever. Yates poor on the night. Lucca, though, is just shocking - he's Veldwjk levels of bad.

Shame we needed the cavalry at half time but at least it was only Neco, Anderson and Hutchinson who will start Sunday and played 90 minutes.

Thought we looked comfortable until the first goal and after ours but nervy after they scored first.

Fair enough, I was in a block and most of these were first half attacking the TE.

Feel like we'd prefer Betis to Midtylland? Don't think either showed enough for us to think we'd stand no chance of beating them. Opta have them 42 and 45 in the world, which suggests there's not much to choose but Midtylland beat us up a bit when we played them,

Believe it's the whole draw today, so after that we'd get to play the winner of Stuttgart v Porto/Braga (nothing to fear there) and then the decision of whether we Roma or Freiburg (latter, please) and Lyon or Villa (former, please) in our half.

Radio Four reporting this morning that both clubs are facing possible sanction for Fenerbahçe fans throwing fireworks on to the pitch. I missed the first half last night so didn't see this.

They chucked a load on at the start of the first half. Clearly our stewards weren't expecting it because they didn't have buckets ready and mostly let them burn out. That's why there was so much injury time at the end of it.

I do wonder what those handheld scanners that they use at the turnstiles are for. If they don't pick up my keys, what are they hoping to pick up with them?

We should be fucking sanctioned for the piss poor searching that must've gone on when you knew they would want to bring flares in.

I wasn't even allowed to take money or a wallet into their ground, yet we wave then through with pockets full of flares.

I bet they didn’t have to wait for two hours to get out of the ground, either.

On the game, positives were Hutchinson and Cunha. CHO scoring is always good for his confidence and Ola Loomed good. They sai, Cunha backed off their player for the fist goal and let him run and gave away the penalty (I know it was soft). But he’s pacy and not afraid to lump it when required.

If Anderson is made to play with anyone other than Sangare and MGW, it’s almost like he tries to do too much.

I know I’m a hater, but Yates was truly awful. And I have no words for Lucca. I think he is one of the worst players I’ve seen at the WFCG in 50 years of going. So we effectively played the first half 9 v 11

If Savona is injured, can’t we replace with Netz?
