I've got a trip booked for the UK in July/August and it looks like I'll be in Nottingham from 7 August. I haven't decided when I'll depart, but it looks like it'll be either the Sunday or the Monday. It will be the last weekend before the start of the new Premier League season, so I'm hoping I can catch at least a friendly. Can someone tell me when pre-season fixtures are likely to be announced? Is it worth me sticking around until the Monday, in case there's a match on the Sunday night?

Very unlikely to be a pre season game on the Sunday before the start of the season. Friday/Saturday are possible.
No idea when the pre-season games are announced, but I can't ever recall there being one on a Sunday evening. Sunday afternoon perhaps, but most likely Saturday 3pm on a Tuesday/Wednesday evening.
When's the last game you went to? Not sure when you actually leave the UK but if still around for season opener (and it's home) then got to be worth travelling to Nottingham for it.
In a parallel twist me and family will still be in Aus then for the rugby so there'd probably be a spare ticket if that was an issue.

I've never seen one. I had hoped to get a pre-season game when I was last over there in 2019, but I think they ended up in Greece. I was thinking about staying around London until the 19th, doing a few day tours and hoping I get a bit of luck with the fixture list.
