I haven't seen Sels do much wrong in the first two games. He certainly has the physicality to do those smothering beast saves well, and he kicks very well. He is a God/good compared to Vlach, Hennessy and Turner.

But whatever I think, I think there are people in the club who agree with you and I expect we will see Kelleher join on loan or maybe even permanently as Liverpool don't want him with Marmawhatssit joining, he won't want to be 3rd choice and he is a very long term target for us. Ramsdale on loan is also still possible.

On the defence, I think we're fine in the centre with four decent-looking options and Moreno coming in will help with the fullbacks. I bloody hope we don't get Montiel, if we do it surely has to be with a view to him going to Oly. On the screen, Sangare's start is encouraging, Yates has been good and there is probably more to come from Dominguez. Even with Danilo out, I am not sure we'll see any more signings in that position.

I wouldn’t be astonished to see a midfield player join on loan, given Danilo’s injury.

There seems to have been a plan to our recruitment this Summer, but the Anderson deal shows that we’re not averse to opportunistic swoopage if the chance presents itself - & in any case, this is Forest under Marinakis with 5 days to go to the end of the window. Anything could yet happen.

I’d be extremely happy with Kelleher if it’s felt that we need additional keeperage.

Probably would have kept hold of Staminec, if we’d known what was going to happen to Danilo.

It does seem less likely now you put it like that.

The new centre half looks (possibly for the first time) like a deal designed to suit the Greeks rather than us. He was loved there, but I'll be surprised if he's capable of reaching our level

He certainly got the better of Olie Watkins when they played Villa in the Europe conference league.

Ah, I can see the flaw here

Research suggests that Feyenoord fans like Gimenez a whole lot more than Arsenal fans like Nketiah.

Feyenoord does not accept the third bid from Nottingham Forest. This was reported by De Telegraaf on Sunday evening. The Rotterdammers see little in the bid, which amounts to 33 million euros in total. The bid consists largely of bonuses, which are not considered realistic in De Kuip. As a result, the total transfer sum seems almost impossible to increase to a new outgoing transfer record, while that is exactly what Feyenoord wants.

"Nottingham Forest misleads with so-called record bid for Santiago Gimenez", the newspaper headlines on the front page. If the English club wants to reach an agreement, "a lot of millions more will have to be added", is the story from De Kuip. The first two bids also included bonuses that are almost impossible to achieve. Nottingham Forest's performance must be extremely good and Gimenez's contribution must also be of an exceptional nature, making the bonuses almost impossible to achieve.

For Feyenoord, there is therefore no reason to accept the third bid. A meeting with Gimenez is planned for Monday to hear how much he wants to play in the Champions League with Feyenoord. His management is again told that the Mexican may only leave for the absolute top prize. If this is not put on the table in the coming days, an outgoing transfer is ruled out. A definitive answer is expected within 48 hours.

Ornstein says Palace are in on Nketiah. Seems like a very Palace kind of signing.

Sounds like me playing ChampMan 01/02. Offer £200,000 plus £100,000,000 after 50 International goals.

Sounds like there is a deal to be done if his agent tells them he prefers a PL salary to playing in the CL.

I have never got the impression that he really wants to come - money or no money - & I’m not seeing anything new that’s changing this impression.

We’ll end up with someone like Danjuma & there will be much moaning from our fanbase. After all, there was a fair amount of moaning when it looked as though Nketiah was a done deal

    Surely not.

Chill your boots guys, in any big negotiation this shit happens and there's also a lot of pre-turd thrown on the margins by people who wish they knew more than they did. Doesn't mean there won't be a deal. There may or there may not be but if we keep the attacking players involved in our first team squad we're already starting from a stronger place than we have the last two years. The placards can stay in the boot unless and until we lose Cho, Ant or Morgs on deadline day.

And if it gets to Friday and we haven’t signed a striker, Marinakis Jr probably still has Origi’s agent’s number.
