The Shelvey saga continues to be weird. There's a story that Rizespor have offered us 3.5M for him and we're holding out for 5M, despite the Guardian having previously reported that we'd terminated his contract.

Club said Shelvey was a loan when he first moved.
Then, when it was reported that we would have breached our overseas loans quota if so, it was suddenly claimed that it was actually a free transfer.

Apparently the mad culture loving Serb turned down the Saudis because he obviously wants to play competitive football. Great header of the ball. And because he is a Serb then he is obviously mental. I like this kind of signing. Might get him for 15 million Euros which is a steal as he gave Harry Kane a good kicking recently and also played well in the Conference league whenever I saw Fiorentina play.
Clearly the bright lights of Nottingham over the cultural wasteland of Florence is a big draw so I am all for this type of signing if we pull it off. As Tricky would say., “Can’t run, can kick”.
