It's quite plausible that Murillo will still turn out to be shit (injuries, not ironing out errors, getting too much into birds / maccie ds) not because he is that type just because thats what humans do sometimes, so if someone wants to pay us 70m - sold.

Why won't I be happy? I don't dislike Hudson-Odoi, I just think we've seen about the best he's got to offer and I'd happily take the silly money we apparently rate him at (the number I saw was £40M).

Not every player has that character. Some feel entitled to Big Club life and don't crack on. I never had that concern about CHO or Elanga.
I have no issue with a player seeing us as a stepping stone, just as I have no issue with us profiting from increased value.

Chalobah has turned us down twice. I am pretty sure if that's his attitude we wouldn't want him for a third time.

I don't think anyone does? I'm more concerned about a player with a sense of entitlement who doesn't put in the effort because "the world" let him down or whatever and he hates having to slum it.
Hopefully anyone we sign is hungry for better and we improve because they are with us. -

That's not quite right. I've discovered recently that most men under 41 are twats, as are those over 41. But those who are 41 are actually alright.
