They just look too awkward once they get above a certain height and can't deal with anything on the ground. Maybe Pantilimon ruined tall goalkeepers for me.

Right. I vividly remember how terrible 6'6" Edwin van der Sar was, and I want nothing to do with 6'7" Thibault Courtois.

And central defenders aren't meant to be able to dribble like Collymore and spray long passes like Pirlo but they play the game differently in Brazil.

He hasn't played many senior games though for a 25 year old so I suspect he isn't great. Turner is returnering to MLS.

Rumours of Galatasary wanting Sangare but seems like wishful thinking from someone. We'd need £28m for it not to cost us in terms of FFP compliance and their record signing of all time is 17m Euros.

Apparently it’s not even remotely true which is a shame.

Hopefully Joe will be sold to Sheff Utd for a decent fee and Turner and Vlach go too. Interest in O’Brien but that would have to involve at least 6 million to help with FFP as he was the main amount of the transfer that also brought us super Toffs.

In other news Chelsea got away with it again as they avoided FFP because they sold a hotel to themselves for a massive profit. The loophole was closed by the Football league but not the Premier which says a lot. Here’s hoping one of Maranakis’s companies can buy the Nigel Doughty academy for squillions and we then get to keep Murillo.

Chicago: Still hoping for a Financial miracle .

I wouldn't give up on him at a loss. You can see the player that's in there. Just needs the right handling to acclimatise to the 'ship (...and new country/club/city). Assuming that he hasn't chucked in the towel yet.

I assume the two goals at West Ham are what we signed him to do. If he can do that on a regular basis, he’s a useful player.

Great player but 45m is fair.

Copa Club dude who watches a lot of South American football has put together a list of players he thinks could be big for Forest. Clearly he was very pleased with the signing of Murillo last year.

    Enjoy

Club's unofficial spokesman says we need to raise about £20m and can do it through fringe players: www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/06/11/nottingham-forest-20m-sales-psr-comply-murillo-gibbs-white/

    Which would be great.

Don't get this: "Forest will look to add a number of new signings ahead of the new season, with two goalkeepers likely to join." Then mentions Carlos Miguel and Sam Johnstone, which has to be either/or. If we sign two the second/third goalkeeper has to be a cheaper option, i.e. a coach or a kid, I'd have thought. Sels and the other two would be crazy.

I haven't ruled out the possibility that Forest might do crazy transfer business....at least once in my lifetime. (A 25 year old with 31 career appearances, looks like a third choice. By the way, on unrelated matters...whatever happened to work permits, and reducing migration?)

I wonder if this is more a tactic to stop clubs trying to get Murillo and/or MGW on the cheap before 1 July.

Easy pass with 24 points (needs 15) according to this:
    www.transferroom.com/gbe#calculator

Basically playing in Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana gets him 10, which is most of the way there.

Everything from the Taylors and Percy seems to suggest the club want to keep MGW, which clearly makes sense. Still think there's a fair chance we sell Murillo to get us some proper spending money but removing the pressure of 30th June, can only help. I don't think it's going to fool any prospective buyer if we are still trying to sell him this month but making out there's no pressure to do so.

I guess if we do believe we only have to make up £20m, the question may be whether the league agrees with our assessment of allowed losses. It was around this time last year they were told that their actual losses were £30m higher than they had reported (the covid and promotion bonus add-backs).
