I would hope that triggering the extension just gives us time to sort out a longer term deal without an imminent deadline.

I can see Djed Spence coming back. He's leaving Spurs

Just "amusing" myself by thinking how much better our money situation would have been if we had either kept Samba or sold him for anything resembling his value.

An no SSC surely means no Djedward? I can see him popping up at Ipswidge or similar. I'd rather have had him than Montiel, obv.

SSC didn't sign Djed for Forest. I would have thought if we came in for him he'd be keen as mustard, based on where his career has gone since which is nowhere.

Only SSC has got a tune out of him though. Given fee, wages and baggage, it's become a bit more of a gamble than I like.

I agree, but he is not going to be on crazy wages by premier league standards we need fullbacks and he can't really be worse than Montiel or Nuno Tavares.

Djed can jog on. Yesterday's news. Career will die a death. He said no to football, yes to more money than we could pay. We aren't going to pay that now he's proven himself less good than SSC made him look.

We can't buy anyone unless we sell or stick two fingers and one more up at PSR. Maybe Dennis will be incredible for us next season.

Bit worried we haven't heard anything about our midfield dynamo's contract, I recognise that he'll be in demand and we'll have a fight on to keep him but I was hoping that we'd be able to find a way to keep him on. I know some people have questioned his value to the club but you can't argue with results, and it's an inescapable fact that ever since Harry Arter joined we have improved each season. I fear that letting him leave will precipitate a downward slide.

In elite level sport you are always looking for those who can achieve consistency. You can make an argument that Arter has been our most consistent performer over the last few years. It's a loss.

I think offering him a contract would be Arter for Arter's sake.

This Euro's best be good otherwise it is going to be a long, long run to August.

Saw somewhere on here someone questioning if this would go ahead. The Twats has confirmed the loan fee was just a mechanism for Lyon to avoid French PSR. Hopefully not at the expense of us failing it here....

So we sold Mangala for £10.5m and bought him for £30m? That's what proper football clubs do.

Errrr. Think you may have got that the wrong way around. But hey ho.

    Chicago: Sober.
