I like Domínguez - I think there is a player in there (but the same is true of Freuler, and he didn't really cut it in this league) - but if we could get reasonable money for him I'd probably sell. There is always the risk that he could be a Mangala (& let's hope Sangaré) who took until his second season to really blossom, but Nuno doesn't seem to rate him much, so could be a goer.

We need to keep some players surely? With players out of contract and loans, then the ones that have just never been near the team, I think we have about 19 senior players.

    Sels, Turner, Vlach
    Neco, Aina, Richards, Toffolo
    Murillo, Niakhate, Omobamidele
    Dominguez, Danilo, Sangare, Yates
    MGW, Elanga, CHO
    Awoniyi, Wood

Of those, two of the keepers probably want to leave, Murillo and MGW might be sold upwards, and Awoniyi doesn't seem totally convinced he wants to be here next season.

With doubts over the manager too, are we heading for another total rebuild?

  • 13 May 2024, 12:01 p.m.

    What's that based on?

  • 13 May 2024, 12:03 p.m.

Seems likely. With an ever changing roster of players, no manager worth buying into, and the ground transitioning to a totonally shit new location, I think we can all give thanks to our magnificent owner for what he has done for us.

    Laundry. It's just laundry now.

  • 13 May 2024, 12:10 p.m.

Hold on, few months back our squad was too big and needed to be much smaller. "Nuno likes a small squad"

Now we are worried it's too small?

  • 13 May 2024, 2:26 p.m.

We're going to start the season again as one of the favourites to go down, especially if MGW and Murillo leave. Makes a bit of a mockery of Darren Fletcher's bold claim back in August that we'd be nowhere near a relegation fight this time.

Find myself hoping Norwich get promoted through the play-offs because they look most likely, perhaps along with Ipswich, of doing a Sheffield United. Sad how supporting a modern PL side operating at the bottom end of the division is increasing about identifying three sides who might just be worse over 38 games, as you accept losing most you compete in.

Leicester fans expect to be really bad next season, they're going to have a points deduction and a massive cash crunch - several key players from this season are either free or retiring, they'll probably have to sell KDH, and they won't be able to spend much on replacements.

  • 13 May 2024, 2:36 p.m.

    Well, good.

  • 13 May 2024, 2:42 p.m.

See I like to believe this, but I feel that we were told they would really struggle in the EFL due to similar issues, and they've just won the league.

  • 13 May 2024, 2:49 p.m.

They've just ignored FFP though for the current season. Can, surely, only get away with that for so long.

Believe they've got a guaranteed points deduction for next year, Ndidi and Iheanacho are out of contract (so's Vardy - I think they are giving him another year but he couldn't score last season). Don't think they'll be sub-30 points bad but they will clearly be in the mix and those downsides could make the difference.

We, obviously, have to be better, not get points deducted and be aiming to get above 40 points.

  • 13 May 2024, 3:41 p.m.

Isn’t there also another points deduction hanging over Everton? Plus them possibly going into administration if their sale falls through?

  • 13 May 2024, 3:46 p.m.

I think the third deduction was dismissed. The slow collapse of the 777 deal seems like a much more clear and present danger than any PSR ruling IMO.

  • 13 May 2024, 4:14 p.m.

I thought that it needed more time/had to be referred. I don't think it's gone.

But yes, also administration seems a real possibility.

  • 13 May 2024, 4:29 p.m.

I’d read that too, but it is hard to keep up.

  • 13 May 2024, 4:30 p.m.

They're new stadium is in the docks innit, if it's going cheap EM should sail it round to Hull (that's his wheelhouse after all) and down the Trent to anchor it next to the current ground, chuck the council the keys shouting that the main stand is about 85% asbestos, have fun. All problems solved.

  • 13 May 2024, 9:01 p.m.

Well, to be fair, the too small refers to the group we might actually want to keep, it doesn't count all the shit we don't want.
