Going to further annoy @JRs_Cigarette by reporting that Richie Laryea is going to Toronto permanently. Which gets our 25 man squad down to 23 (I think).
Has he played any senior games? Lot of column inches and flowery words for someone with a very long way to go to be in contention, never mind offer something, at first team level.
edit
Thread title has been changed from January transfers.
Totally missed that George Shelvey had left permanently for Irish league. Looks like was not the answer to our keeping needs from the start he's made. Subbed at half time after dropping 4 first half full-blown turners.
Dortmund fan was asking about Reyna's lack of game-time (is he injured as he didn't even make the bench v Tierney's cheating bindipping bstards)
Someone made the very good points that a) he's not currently as good as MGW and b) Forest's Bundesliga signings (eg Awoniyi, Mangala) have been taking a number of months to adapt to the speed and intensity of the EPL.
So unless we are going to sign him permanently in the summer (and sell MGW?), it actually looks like another ill-thought-out transfer.
Didn't he sign an extension at Dortmund before he came to us? As you say, unless Gibbs-White is leaving in the summer and we're getting ahead in succession planning or they thought MGW might have an injury in late January, it was a weird choice for him to come to a club where we had such an obvious established player in his position.
I think the relevant point is it's taken a number of months for players Forest have signed from the Bundesliga to get up to the speed in the EPL.
You could argue it took Mangala a season. It took Awoniyi long enough for the board to sack the recruitment team which signed him, Niakhate tore his hamstring very early on.
If we're signing cover for at No 10, we need someone who could slot straight in almost seamlessly, not someone who needs a few months of playing in the EPL to settle in.
