Faster, stronger, younger, less error-proned less sulky. Better.

Interesting contrast between Yates and Worrall. Both some would say are of limited technical ability but the difference between them seems to be attitudinal. Every single manager Yates has played for has picked him, which is really getting quite remarkable. I think it's because he works very very hard, does exactly what he's told and influences games. He's now club captain, presumably.

He's younger and more shiny. Not seen any evidence of the others.

All black players are quicker than all white players. It’s the law.

Who could forget the lightning pace of Dexter Blackstock or Chris Bart-Williams?

No, but the treatment of the club captain was the first time that my faith in Cooper as a masterful leader was challenged.

Suppose the club captain did something that undermined the dressing room and the club, and everyone from the players and the manager, through to the owner, agreed that he had to go? I very strongly doubt that the turnround in his fortunes was entirely due to performances on the pitch. At least not from what I saw.

So if it was something else out of the club staffs hands, then you've just done a boo-boo.

He's not especially fast, but he's faster. Because Worrall is slow. So is Boly. Those two are our cart-horse defenders.

It's a bit of a shame when a long standing player leaves, but as I'm not from Nottingham or ever lived there I'm not into the ONE OF OUR OWN schtick.
I do remember watching us on TV several years ago - probably away to some northern shit hole beginning with B - and posting that my issue with Worrall was that everything was so last ditch and a better defender would snuff the danger out earlier. I think he got better from then, but perhaps not better enough for our current level.
But thanks for that header v Fester in the FA Cup if nothing else. Oh and the headed tackle whilst lying on the floor. Wasn't that the same game?

The outcome of Cooper vs Worrall seems to be they both picked a fight and both lost. Lessons to learn for both.

Agree. It was why Des was so good.

I recall having similar discussions with my Sheep-supporting colleagues and acquaintances who would bang on about how fantastic Richard Keogh was. My argument was that no defender who spends that much time on his arse or lunging into last-ditch tackles can possibly be in control of his defending. The obvious (and glorious) example being the play-off final when Zamora stepped a few yards off him in the box to deliver that stunning coup de grâce - the lasting image of Keogh throwing himself feet-first at the challenge with the ball already whistling past him and into the net. Marvellous.

Fun fact: Brandon Aguilera's last name is actually Zamora.

Wes Morgan and John Terry had ok careers. (jk, captain leader legend had much, much more to his game).

Not quite. Worrall was slow. Andrew O isn't. Being 6 years young and not built like a swollen worzel gummage helps.
