So what you're saying is that our best player are the ones most coveted by other teams? How rude. Surely they should want to buy the crap ones and leave the good ones alone?

That's pretty much what I was saying, but with less grumpy, yes. Our Champo backup squad might have been useful in that regard, but no-one really seems to want them either, with McKenna still theer for example.

They probably got payrises with promotion that puts them out of the budget of anyone in the championship. I’d have thought McKenna would be pushing to leave to get into the Scotland squad for the summer.

Is we can get 30m for mangala we should take it. He's good but we need more strength in other areas.

It is how we should operate, buy, develop and sell

It would be a good idea to start. As many of us have mentioned over the years. Even if it's one sanction at one critical junction too late.

He's a good player and there's a really good trajectory of improvement but if we can sell him for that much, all things considered, we should.

I would say that would also come under our bad transfer decisions. Not that the players are wrong necessarily (although obviously there were wrong players), but we overpaid on contracts as well.

Presumably he's cutting short his somewhat unsuccessful loan in Turkey and has agreed to take a haircut just to get some playing time.

Yeah, and if the Turkish club wasn't paying 100% then that is pretty good for us as well. For a few months, anyway, then he'll be back on the big bucks.

Telegraph say Newcastle are likely to bid for MGW if Almeiron goes to Saudi.

  • Mangetoutpanorama_fish_eye

That would be a sensible upgrade. And a decent justification for selling Mangala.

I would hope/assume that Newcastle will be told to fuck off if they do. If we stay up our P&S allowables increase next year so we shouldn't have the same financial crunch, and we can't consider selling him in this window if we want to stay up.

Also, there was a story that they're having to sell because they're on the edge of P&S trouble, so even with amortisation considerations I'm not convinced they'll be willing to shell out the 60M+ we'd surely demand to even answer their call in this window.

I'm being thick but don't understand. Seems like youre saying selling MGW would be good justification for selling Mangala.

Sorry - selling Mangala might give us the financial option of not selling MGW

Probably not. Most often someone else will be paying the other 30%.
