Although I guess Afcon is a factor with potentially seven players unavailable (Sangare, Boly and Aurier with the Ivory Coast, Aina and Awoniyi with Nigeria and Kouyate and Niakhate with Senegal).
I actually went through to see how many games they'd actually miss. Good news is that the premier league winter break (30th Dec - 20th Jan) is our friend.
AFCON groups are 13th-24th Jan; Group of 16 27th-30th; QF 2nd-3rd Feb; SF 7th, Final 11th.
Nigeria and Ivory Coast are in the same group, Senegal top seeds in their group. Think they'd all expect to be in the quarters, if not the semis.
We play FA cup 3rd round on 6th Jan - assume they'll all miss that and Brentford away on the 20th and, if relevant, the FA cup 4th round on the 27th (5 day gap after the last group game for Ivory Coast/Nigeria, 4 days for Senegal - not worth the risk, even if they are knocked out).
The Arsenal home on the 30th, so likely they all miss that. Bournemouth away on 3rd Feb, so we miss any quarter finalists (which means, with the players likely to be away, not much chance we let Neco Williams go out on loan) and finally Newcastle away on the 10th, so we probably miss any semi-finalists (unless the game was pushed back to the Monday?).
