On to the list of probables, given our track record with injured players?

Crap for him but if they are about to break just before signing is better than just after.
Another young French international left back Adrien Truffert is linked. Also linked with other premier league clubs including Liverpool.
Toffolo and Truffert sounds like an overpriced Brasserie that has aspirations of a Michelin star after a long argument about which way round to put the names.
Now linked with Alex Moreno of from Villa and looks credible. Yes please. He good.
We have made big bid for Gimenez so they say.
Romano says 25M plus, Feyenoord want more. Sounds like it's happening.
He's nothing other than a poacher, but a fast one one that makes runs so tricky should be ok.
Some Spurs lad considers his worthy as potential Kane replacement here
Erdevise. For every Vincent Jansson/Lars Vjedldwick/Anthony, there is a Luis Suarez. Well maybe not for every one.
Batshit article.
Veldwijk was playing in the second tier of Dutch football when we signed him.
Worth a gamble though, Imagine how good he might have been if he could run, or kick the ball!
I wasn't sure about that because Excelsior where we got him from are a yo-yo club, but sure you are right. He did score quite a few goals in their top league though I believe for PEC Zwolle.
Feels like Gimenez is the one they chase all summer and sign in the last few days, like MGW two years ago and Sangare last year.
Or the old reverse bait and switch and we sign Nketiah (who probably costs about same).

Athletic reporting that we are indeed negotiating for Nketiah.
I dunno. Nketiah is clearly an excellent player with potential, but I'm not sure he's so much better that both Wood and Taiwo will appreciate being knocked down the pecking order for him, and given the spend he'd expect to be first choice.
I do feel we should get a 3rd striker, but my preference would be for either a relative unknown fighting for a chance or an experienced hand happy to support the squad. Or someone just plain better in every way if we are paying the silly money.
I might agree with that were it not for the fitness records of Taiwo and Wood. They're rarely both available, and we've been lucky that there haven't been more games where neither is available. If we have a third quality striker join, whichever turns out to be the best of those three and the most available will play the most games and it will probablt improve us, which is what we want. If we sign Gimenez or Nketiah and Awoniyi or Wood hit 20 goals and it keeps them on the peripheries it will be a great outcome because it will have improved us.
I wouldn't also rule out Taiwo being sold last minute. He's done well enough that there would likely be some profit in him, even with the injuries.

I would see him as a different sort of player (ie I don't see better as a linear measure...there are more than one axis). He moves about more than wood, and can do more football not just in straight lines than T. If you are playing higher, pressing higher, I think Nketieh can join up more, and give you more off the ball.
Anyway, there's all manner of reasons that I don't see it happening at all.
