What would seem a fair price from Anderson? We can work back from there.

I guess £20m. (Including English tax of £5m- Gareth said he wanted him to play for England) Knock off Newcastle are desperate tax, so say £15m

We pay £30m plus £5m of add ons. Vlach is sold for £15m.

Maybe not egregious enough to get thrown out

Don't the PSR rules change completely next season? I thought we were moving to this 85% of turnover rule.

Nothing has been agreed yet. That model was mooted, but IIRC didn't have the backing needed (it really shouldn't either, just widens the gap between the big six and everyone else). My understanding is that a few different models are currently being .... well ... modelled. And the results will be presented to the PL later this summer for discussion.

Think whatever the model everyone will be pleased to know amortisation will still be in there.

There's too many questionable deals for the league to be messing around rejecting some of them. They'd be opening themselves up for legal action.

Besides, if the league did decide we'd overpaid, the only outcome would be that Newcastle could only book some of the fee against their FFP.

This. It seems to be more their problem than ours

The fee won't impact PSR as there is only one day of the financial year left, meaning immaterial amortisation.

    Impacts PSR for Newcastle.

As ever with football, this is all pretty short sighted. Ha ha, we've tricked FFP by mutually overpaying for academy player. Ooops, now we've got a £7m FFP liability for the next 5 years.

I won’t pretend to understand, but won’t the Vlach deal mean the spend is less?

Vlach's sale is a one-off fix, presumably in the 23/24 accounts. No impact beyond that, aside from removing his on-going amortisation of about £1.5m a year.

Fab says Vlach has agreed personals and is having a medical. Really surprised we shifted him, he looked nowhere near the level.

So would be costing us around 5.5m per year as long as Vlach contract has to run.

    A very modern PSR deal.

And he does have potential, many were upset about how much we paid for MGW, and we’d get double that fee for him now.

Well, you'd imagine we'll spend the Vlachodimos "saving" on Miguel/Johnstone and a mass of other players, so I'm not sure it's helpful to think in those terms. (And Anderson will be contracted to 2029, when Vlachodimos's would have expired in 2027.)

We've swapped some fringe players for other fringe players and the premier League think we are richer as a result.

It is a bit of a pyramid scheme.

He is good. The question is; where do we play him?

Well yes but this ‘saving’ is part of this deal. If we sold Murillo tomorrow for 60m we wouldn’t be saying Anderson cost -25m
