That's certainly fairer than banning intersex people from playing any sort of competitive sport. For me, if an intersex person has been told all their life that they're female, then they should be allowed to compete as a female. If there is a competitive advantage, then it's no greater than Jonah Lomu had as he plowed through the England backs at the rugby world cup.
I was thinking that a man may not feel comfortable punching a woman/intersex in the face. Obviously some of them do, but it does seem a bit odd to encourage it.
This doesn't stand up as the people telling her are unlikely to have one eye on her taking up boxing, and if they did you'd have to question their motivation.
Obviously not. But the IOC's criteria currently start with birth certificate and passport. The doctor at her birth 'said' she is a woman, the passport office agreed. So from the IOC's point of view, she's a woman. You may not like it, but them's the facts.
