    Forest medical staff?
So expect a “minor” setback when he finally returns to training in January? Finally returns to matchday squad in March.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 2:49 p.m.

I think Danilo will be out until at least January. A straight forward fracture doesn’t require surgery. He had Surgery. No way is he back in 8 weeks.

As for the game. I thought we looked good. Of course the unlucky defensive fuckery would get us in the end. I didn’t realise how fast Semedo was and Neco was lucky to stay on the pitch. Sangare looked good until he was knackered in the second half. We sacrificed our shape in the second when we didn’t replace like for like. Elanga being subbed was unfortunate. Obviously a poke in the eye isn’t fun. Aina. I love him but he’s made of biscuits. This puts our full back position under a lot of pressure. He was moved to help with Semenyo and he still struggled against him. I thought Toff’s was very unlucky with their goal as Murillo just happened to be in the way of the clearance.

Taiwo looked dangerous when he came on and a shame his header was straight at Neto.

Our Ryan was man of the match as he made an immediate impact. The goal opened up for him a few times and although on target couldn’t get his shots to really test Neto (Apart from the goal) because he was too accurate.

We look solid but not spectacular at the moment. Again our shape was much better in the first half. Tiredness got us in the end I think and very unlucky but I think CHO and Elanga should have been replaced with Eric and Jota. Eric could have dropped back with Neco going forward if They were worried about Williams getting a second yellow card which he could have got.

I think Michael Oliver was a bit lenient with our full back in the end.

Should have won it really as The Muff were pretty wasteful until their stroke of luck. Fuckers.

All in all a decent start but still disappointing that we didn’t put them away.

    Roll on Soton.

    Chicago: Optimistic.

    No, he's having surgery tomorrow.

What if his ankle had popped out the socket as I've heard suggested. I guess that would be ligament issues and perhaps the reason for a slightly more optimistic outlook?

  • 18 Aug 2024, 2:55 p.m.

Yates didn't test Neto because his shooting was to good? Er.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 3:14 p.m.

Straight at the keeper. He was too accurate as in on goal but straight. Nothing either side of Neto.

If you saw the game you would know what I meant. If you didn’t then it would make sense to question my Sunday morning meanderings..

    Chicago: Waking up.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 3:22 p.m.

Chic will correct me if I'm wrong, but ligament issues are generally worse than a fracture. I think he is done for the season, at best.

In any case there's nothing minor about it, there's footage of his foot bent round at an angle it is unholy to see a person's foot.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 3:39 p.m.

Tv coverage over here basically kept away from showing the injury. Generally ligament injuries take longer than bones but the ankle can be an exception. I think if he broke his ankle and completely dislocated it too then that is a very nasty situation. I really like Danilo but cannot see him coming back before the end of the year. I would be shocked if he is registered in the squad September but if he is l, then maybe I am wrong. Doubt it though.

    Chicago: Injury specialist.

The last surviving member of the 1959 FA Cup winning team is perhaps more fitting than someone who spent a couple of years here. But yes, thought may have had a mention.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 4:19 p.m.

"Too accurate" and "hit it too well" are bollocks statements. If it's accurate, you hit it to where the goal keeper isn't, on target And if you hit it well, it also hits the target where the goal keeper isn't.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 4:25 p.m.

Okay. Well fuck it. Got his shots on target but not with any accuracy then. Most shots from a Forest player. Goal threat will have a few this season. Anyway, MOM Ryan Yates.

    Leave me alone I’m knackered.

Chicago: Recovering from a very trying week.

"We concede too many goals from winning positions."

Sure, but also, we concede too many goals when we're losing and too many goals when it's a draw.

Sky flashed up a graphic earlier which showed the teams who conceded the most goals from winning positions and it was, more or less, the bottom six.

    No shit.

Also, of all the times the other team wants to score, it's more important when we're in a winning position.

So does this truism mean anything, football guys?

  • 18 Aug 2024, 4:49 p.m.

Maybe they'll save it for the Wolves game. Need something sombre every game

There is a picture here if you can bear to watch it: x.com/VibesFoot/status/1824819208758386775?t=OE8KZc0EYlOfODiVZTUCPw&s=19

    Trigger warning it's all bent.

I'm no medic and interested in what Chic thinks but that looks like a dislocation of some type to me and they've already said its a break.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 5:35 p.m.

"How were we meant to know it was broken? The empath picked up nothing from the leeches."

No, not really, almost complete bollocks. You might as well say things like "what we are seeing is that teams that accumulate the fewest points, tend to be towards the bottom of the table". It's just trotting out meaningless tripe to talk about, because they haven't found a way (or don't understand how) to talk about the actual football bits.

I really like him...but he's not physically a good enough athlete, I'm afraid. Unless he stays super-switched-on and gets there early, he gets overrun. As he tires later in games, he gets overrun anyway. It's a testament to his guts, heart, and bloody hard work, that he generally keeps his head above water. Sometimes nearly all game.

Not so I'm afraid. Technical error. He showed his man the back of his shirt, and thus completely lost him (if he'd have kept an eye he might have been able to let the ball run). He also lost sight of his centre-half, and played the clearance blind around the corner straight into him.

    Maybe two technical errors there.

The full backs had a big impact on the game. Not in a good way. This is something that I have been particularly alert to since going to the wet hams game that we won last season, and being able to watch the movement live.

Three at the back, for me...because at one, or more, points the full-backs are not going to be where you need them.

I didn't realise until watching MOTD later how close Williams was to being sent off. Got away with that.

  • 18 Aug 2024, 6:59 p.m.

Their number 19 did a cynical foul just after the one he got booked for and Oliver let three go entirely in the first half
