Our goal difference gives us an extra point on Burnley. If they lose to Tottenham (likely) and Newcastle (the same Newcastle who are shit away and beat Sheff U 8-0) and we somehow get a point from Sheff U and Chelsea, then they'd need to beat us about 7-0 to finish above us. This being Forest I suppose that isn't inconceivable...
Anyway, the Sheff U game is vital on Saturday. A win there and we'd be almost safe and Burnley will probably be out with it.
Luton are the bigger threat; they could easily take something from Everton whose season is effectively over.

    Half point.

We can get to safety remarkably quickly if everything goes our way. Chelsea could be a celebration game.

It's just a shame that Simon's "we play slightly worse than our opponents, however good they are" thought is a brilliant and pertinent observation.

Indeed, I have already quoted that a couple of times today as the reason we are where we are!

Mansfield, Derby and Leicester all got promoted this season. We can't put a bow on it for them by getting relegated - if nothing else we need to stay up just to spite them all.

Burnley are doing their but against a Newcastle who struggle away from home.

So Luton at Wet Sham and Burnley at Spuds before we kick off on Saturday. If Luton lose and Burnley don’t win, it’s effectively done and dusted before we kick off.

If we get a couple of points back between now and then, Burnley are down.

Certainly it looks a lot better right now than it was at 17 minutes past 3. I think we'll get at least a point out of Chelsea.

If anyone wants to make some money, we are 8-1.

I think there's value in Burnley there. If they beat Spurs, they're bound to beat us. But they're hedging their bets the other way.

Was feeling pretty confident about our chances on Saturday but Chelsea v West Ham yesterday has got me concerned again. West Ham have to react next week, surely?

Trying to impress the new manager rather than hating the old one now he's on the out?

I dunno. These sort of things are so unpredictable, like Arsenal at ours last season.

Yeah, I was not a massive fan of West Ham and Tottenham being shit and Chelsea being brilliant yesterday.

Hopefully wet shams new manager (elect) will inspire them.
